Trying to find Josh Hunt's weights program

Over the past 3 weeks we have kicked a total of 49.52. Personally I think this is quite ordianry for a top 4 contender. Looking at an option yesterday before the game I noticed josh Hunt as the players were walking off after their warm up kick 2 or 3 60m drop punts from the boundary line (his wrong side in terms of being a left footer) and slotted them all comfortably through. Now why wouldn't bomber try him up the forward line yesterday. I thought that Brown was too quick for him and it was probably a good time to experement with the idea. I couldn't see him being out muscled by anyone and he is obviously the best kick we have. Maybe it would be worth dropping the skill of kick out of goal in return for a kick at goal. I'd be interested with oter peoples thoughts.

I agree with the recognition of a problem we have but Im not sure of Hunt up forward.Yes good kick but you need to get the ball first. You think he was too slow on Brown and Brown would be the type of forward he would have to be.
The other issue is he is such a weapon from the kickins , im sure we would hate to lose that ability in big games in the finals.

Josh Hunt is 10 times better than Sando or Dasher at kick-ins. Personally, I wouldn't want to lose him there

We just have to employ/utilise a specialist kicking coach.
It is obvious that Graham and Kingsley especially have no set routine when kicking for goal. Their style of kicking changes, depending on how far out, and what angle they are on. The kick should always be the same, with the exception of maybe snaps from the behind post.
Our set shots as a team is very poor.
This is something that can be resolved with coaching, and routine.
Everyone may knock Lloyd, but he is so good, because he goes back and does the same thing every time, regardless of the percived difficulty of the shot.

Why do you need to try Hunt up forward ?
If we were struggling to score, then maybe. Its accuracy we've struggled with and thats something KK and Graham need to fix.Under pressure at goal,Hunt maybe just as inaccurate.

BTW,Hunt was a forward in his junior years.

Don’t read too much into how a player kicks for goal at training or even in the warm ups. There is absolutely no pressure in these circumstances, and you find the shots on goal are goals.

Kent Kingsley, yesterday, kicked every goal in his warm up that I saw, yet throw him into the line of fire in the match, and it’s a completely different situation. Ben Graham is the same; even McCarthy is a better kick away from the games.

But for what it’s worth, I wouldn’t go tampering with the defensive group, or the forwards for that matter. I have said it once and I will say it again: while we’re winning, I do not see any reason in restructuring the forward line.

We are continuing to kick scores in excess of 100 points, which, at the end of the day, is a great achievement for a team struggling to reach anywhere near that last season.

Amen to that! Ain't broke (and it most certainly is not!), don't fix.
