Without any exceptions such as "At their peak", "when in form," "will mature into..." or the phrase "comparing apples and oranges..."state simply who you think is the best player at our club. I guess my best way of putting it is the player that will help our flag tilt the most this year, or the player you believe other clubs would like to have for the 09 season if they could.

For mine: Pendlebury.

Agree, Pendlebury.

Didak second.

Didak slightly ahead of a group of five

Could name a few, Cloke , Pendles , Swan , Leon and Fraser

It doesnt seem to be like the buckley era anymore , where he was the obvious choice and miles ahead of the rest

Pendlebury
Didak
Swan

Third used to be Shaw, but that wont change back till he gets his offensive side back up to scratch.

O'Brien will be third by years end imo.

Its incredibly hard to say who Collingwood's best player is. Once upon a time it was Nathan Buckley and that was it. Pendles, Didak, Swan, Davis are in the mix.

O'Brien will be third by years end imo.

I think with his defensive skills and his drive forward he is largely forgotten. He is def top 10 at the moment and while i am a Maxwell fan, always have and always will be O'Brien plays a more important role in the backline. I am a fan of his.

Top 3 currently
1. Pendles
2. Cloke
3. Didak

Davis or Pendlebury. Swan , Cloke vital and guys like Medhurst and O'Brien around the mark.
Didak drops down the list now he plays further up the field , and spends a lot of time doing nothing with it.

I think these are 2 very different questions.

The player other teams would like to have for 09 must be Pendles, Swan or Dids.

But the player to most help us win the flag in my mind must be Travis. If Pendles doesn't play then any number of players step into his role. Same with Swan or Dids. If Travis doesn't play they are some big shoes to fill. Rocca is unlikely to play 25 games. Who does that leave as the big man forward to do what he does?

I think Trav is one of our most Underrated and Important players. If he did a knee (touch wood) in the early rounds it would be devestating. If Pendles did it would be horrible but we could cover him.

Pendleberry due to impact. As has been said above Didak drops down the list playing higher a field. Swan is more involved and consistant but doesn't have the same impact. There are others like Cloke who are vital to our structure but Pendles is our best.

Agree 100%, was going to write virtually the same thing. Trav is the one who is most imp to our flag tilt , without him we are most severely compromised.

A lot of teams may also choose to take him if granted access to 1 Coll player based on their needs buts Pendles would probably be the most common pick

I also think Trav is still a young CHF and we can expect continued major improvement from him.

Not dissimilar to 02/03 when Bucks was clearly our best player but it was often argued Rocca was our most important. At that time I went with Buckley as most important also as he was so far ahead of all our other midfielder of the time. Pendles doesnt have that gap on the field
