If this bloke had of been to the draft testing he would of broken the all time Speed, Agility AND Vertical Jump record.

Going to start as a forward, got him for next to nothing. Malthouse said he wouldnt be suprised if he cracked the 1sts in his first year.

So WHOS EXCITED?

Apparently his already better than Marty Clarke?

Wasn't it the all time Collingwood record?? As opposed to draft camp?

Either way, pretty impressive, I think he will crack into the first team next year, going by his pedigree and the attitude I've seen from earlier interviews

Nah it was draft record. He would have been comfortably ahead of the best this year if he was tested with them.

Still, that would have been Mark Fraser who was the fastest player I've ever seen play

Does anyone feel sorry for the GAA? imagine if they were taking scully and not GWS the outroar there would be. Oh well.

We've pretty much robbed Downs county of their future :D

Can you blame the Irish for wanting to ditch Gaelic and come to Australia to play AFL? I mean watching some highlights of Mooney, the atmosphere didn't exactly ooze excitement If it wasn't for Mooney tearing it up, think I would've fallen asleep.

When you hear what they said when Mooney was interviewed about coming to Aus you know they understand the situation. They said something along the lines of Gaelic football is an amateur sport and they don't expect to hold guys back from going to a professional sport. I guess it's like the NBL losing top basketballers to the NBA, or good soccer players going overseas to play, you're not going to be upset about that.

Do you realise he was either playing for his school or his u-18 county team in those clips?
What sort of atmosphere would there be at the australian equivalent?

The video below is from our equivalent of your grand final i.e. senior football.
No problems with atmosphere.

Really informative, thnx for the link.

His little giggle at the end when the interviewer said "In Hine we trust" was rather humorous. :D:thumbsu:

One thing that surprised me was when Hine said Bucks would play Mooney in the forward 50...

I know he has extreme pace, but I would have thought we would use his pace running with the ball (i.e. wing, high half forward / half back), rather than running when he doesn't have the ball (ie forward pocket to tackle / chase / get to the ball). In my opinion he would be too restricted as a deep forward.

Plus, deep forwards generally need really good finishing skills to be able to make the most of limited opportunities, which I wouldn't have thought Mooney would have yet...

Not trying to second guess the coaching staff, who I know would know far more about where / how to play him than I, just for the sake of discussion.
