If they make a change in the next 2 years it will probably be Newman otherwise Foley is a shoe-in.

JON would need to concentrate on actually getting a game and then maybe stringing a few together before harboring captaincy ambitions.

He's a mere one season away to his 2006 and 2007 seasons from being delisted!!!!

IMO Foley, Newman, Simmo, Thursty, and even JB would get votes from the other players as prefered club captain.

I'd have Richo as our captain before even thinking about JON for the position.

But I suspect that you were only joking to suggest JON as a captain though.

While we're putting forward players who have played had less than a double-digit number of games for us as future captains, why not put forward a player who has had no games at all?

Suggesting Oakley-Nicholls as a future captain is - as of this moment - ludicrous. You have put forard no relevant traits which a player might need to captain a side in Oakley-Nicholls, you haven't even mentioned anything which would put him ahead of any other player on the list as a potential captain of the future.

My pick depends on the outcome of this year's vice-captain appointments. If Newey and Axel prove themselves and carry the mantle well, I'd say that when Sugar steps down, Newey will step up. If they find themselves unable to perform at their best with the additional responsibility (which I don't think they will, I personally reckon they are both going to do us proud), then the club could call on anybody who is performing well and demonstrates clear thinking and leadership on the field.

it has to be foley atm. he can do the inspirational on the field as well as great example and speaker off the field. if he continues his form of last year i reckon he picks himself.

I think that while i would love Axel to get the gig or even Deledio in the future i still think that Cogs if can get his body right will be our next captain.

I realise that he just removed himself from the leadership group but i believe that Sugar will captain for two more years then Cogs or Newman will take over.....with Foley and Deledio being next in line!
