Collingwood will have their own commentary on Foxtel I believe. Is this something us, as tiger fans would like to have?

Personally I would like to give it a go and see how I liked it. It could be good, or it could be rubbish. Not sure.

Mick's comments will be very insightful.

Fox Footy used to have the option of turning the commentary completely off. Bring that back I say, not this 'team focused (biased)' crap.

Although it will be interesting if we get into an unassailable lead, to flick over to it for some cheap laffs.

I don't mind biased commentary sometimes - it's all part of the colour of watching the game. Don't mind Eddie getting a bit over-excited (there's always a mute button).

But probably the most fun is when the 'biased' commentator's team get's done. Particularly if it's a dodgy umpiring decision.

There's a site called Awful Announcing that specializes in highlighting appalling commentary. They often put up both team's announcers so you can compare the two levels of emotion.

Remember that crap station when I was young Tugga, when we were at the top of the league (where we belong BTW) and Geelong were crap, they had these commentators that were saying Richmond are taking the game up to Geelong this week.

I suppose we were, we won by 118 points!!! FFS, we were taking the game up to Geelong

Tony Shaw (shudders). I couldn't think of anything worse than listening to them....except when we are 5 goals up with 5 minutes to play. Please please please let the tigers win so I can enjoy listening to the sour grapes that those boys serve up. Tigers to finish 9th jokes and all!!!

Pretty certain I'm in the minority here and may infact be the only one in this group but I always enjoyed Eddie commentating. Called the game as he saw it and didn't seem to have to try and come up with the big CALL to make him worthwhile

I can see things with a biased view all by myself, I don't need commentators to do it for me
I'd always prefer to listen to someone impartial to know that I wasn't just seeing things the way I wanted it to be

Agree, its a novelty and nothing more. I would hate to sit and watch the Pies match with all Richmond commentary, it would drive me nuts.

But would love to tape it and watch it later, or better still, if Dimma and the assistant coaches did it after the game and offered it up to us at a reasonable fee i would jump at it.

I have a feeling it has been done before?

i really like his comentating, it was fantastic last year vs. the swans.

only time i've disliked his commentary has been when collingwood are playing, he's a passionate man and he gets a bit biased
