Can someone tell me if Ben Hart is on our Veterans list. I am aware Mark Riciutto is. I know Ben Hart was originally considered as a veteran but was still on our main list. Has he now gone to the complete Veterans list? By what i have worked out we have 38 players on our main list, 1 rookie (Andrews), and by the looks of it 2 veterans (Hart and Riciutto). To my calculations we have 41 players so far, is this correct?

Correct.

We have the maximum number of players on our primary list - 38.

We have 2 veterans and 1 rookie out of a total of 6 veterans and rookies combined.

This leaves us with only 3 spaces available on our rookie list and none on our primary list.

That's why the only way we can get a pick in the PSD is via a delisting of one of the 38 players on the primary list.

just don't come crawling to me Round 1 when Mark Stevens does another leg injury and plays less then half the season. Of course I hope it doesn't happen, but somehow with his track record; I don't like the sounds of it.

I must admit that the fear of this happening crosses my mind constantly. I'd almost bet that he'll pass the test, and then break down after a couple of games into the season.

I'm struggling to work out how he can overcome permanent damage under stressful situations.

So just say Stevens and Begley don't come up, does that mean we could potentially have five selecions (two PS and three rookie)?

macca23, Stevo is getting those "jelly injections" not sure of the name but they basically give him an artifcial cartledge. McLeod is having the same treatment again.

His knee is not a major worry because it has recovered well and responds well after a work out because its managed properly. The major problem standing between Stevo and another contract is his groin injury.

That's exactly what it means.
Interesting.
According to the poll currently taking place in another thread Crows fans would most like to see Pearce, Grundy and Fisher in our side, while Juniper and Ware have a bit of support. ;)

I hope he does stand up, but it was a bit more than cartilege damage. He has also done permanent damage to the structure of his knee as well - whether that will affect him or not now that he has this jelly cartilege I'm not sure.

Agreed about the groin/adductor.

macca23, I think both of us a speculating here. I think people who will make the decision will make it based on a lot of clean information they get. If they say he is good enough to take a punt on then I am all for it. I won't write him off without giving him a chance to prove to us that he can do the training like everybody else.

Mcleod's knees arent as dodgy as Stevens. Stevens has not played a proper game with this "jelly" thing. How can you tell?
He has played with that "jelly" thing. He came back and played a couple of games with that knee and then missed the rest of the year with a groin injury because he was underdone.

Still how can we be assured. It was only a handful of games. Knees never recover IMHO.

His knee hasn't troubled him since he came back briefly last year. His knee is as good as it will be and its managable. If he can play 16 games next year then he is worth it.

We know that how? a couple of full strength AFL games and he was out like a fly again. You can't base a prediction on him being full strength this season (or as you say; half). Yes preseason counts, but its not the same as competitive AFL games where the defenders aim for those sore spots.

Honestly, I dont think you can judge knees. They are nothing but trouble. Once injured; never the same. Look at Matthew Primus. He's so much out and in that he better keep away from Carson Kresley.

I just...I know I should be optimistic. But with Mark Stevens; it's just not happening.

Time will tell. If medical staff says he is good to go then thats enough for me.

Lets not forget that this is the first time in 3 years that Stevens is actually doing any pre-season at this stage fo the year;)

I'll have a friendly no dollar bet with you Stiffy that he doesn't play 16 games next year - and hope I lose.

Mark Stevens. Please, please! ;)

Finally someone with some bloody sense, why have someone on the list who hasn't played a full season in god knows how long, and stiffy if you can be content with '16 games' from someone on the senior list, well good.... I can't.

I would rather see him delisted get a kid in with a decent future... just my opinion. And you all on here seem to think he is our saviour, i will refrain from judgement until he proves me wrong next year and plays 22 games like he is contracted for and stars in 80% of them.

My girlfriend has that too, but not in her knees.

Sorry, it's Friday.

Perhaps the club doctors could put the "jelly" into his groin for a soft approch. :D
