Please don’t call me pretty boy, I really don’t like it

This is typical AFL arrogance:
Yes, you can play cricket at our* oval - as long as the government underwrites any potential compensation.
Yes, you can play cricket at our* oval - but in return, we demand the government now pays for the Footy Express which has nothing at all do with the discussion, but hey, let's try it on.
Crows just as bad:
Yes, you can play at our* oval - but we demand government pay compensation (not the AFL, who of course own our club) if a player gets injured because of the re-laid surface.
Yes, you can play at our* oval - but what if it rains on the Saturday and AO can't get the pitch out, then the government (not the AFL, who of course own our club) pay compensation for that too.
Malinauskas is posturing, doesn't want lose face with the fans he's supposedly acting for if/when he can't get the deal done; that's why he's now saying it's all up to the AFL, not him.

He's looked at the contract that the SMA drew up and cant find a way out of.

I think the game should be played at AO, but if it can't be its not really the AFLs fault.

I'd be mighty pissed at the Adelaide FC if they don't allow the Shield Final to take place at Adelaide Oval.

If the curators say it can be done, it can be done. They are world class.

If it works out well, it opens up opportunities for things like State of Origin to be played at the Oval during cricket season and things like that. The AFL should tread carefully.

It shouldn't affect the football at all. My understanding is the Crows will just not be able to train on it the one time they usually do before the game. Big deal. I hope the club won't be so precious as some Crows supporters are.

Yep, don't mess with the Cricket Gods.

The AFC could be signing up for their own Curse of the Billy Goat here.

Them Crows, they ain't gonna win no more

Interestingly, the original Billy Goat was called Murphy so maybe we're already cursed

I don't think it's up to the club is it?

Your sat of origin suggestion will never happen

Should build a new undercover stadium. That’s the answer.
Teams that play under a roof regularly have low premiership count.

While that is also us, wouldn’t want to harm our chances any further.

The SA government has everything to do with the footy express. They demand that free transport is provided to ticket holders and the clubs are required to pay for it. So it's added to the cost of season tickets. If you've got leverage in a negotiation, you use it.
