Its the banking on the West tce side thats the issue.

And the distinct lack of space around KRO as a whole, if youve ever been there
Nope but I’m sure things can be done, they’ve got a few weeks to sort it.

When the guys won the last game against the Vics, it was the leading sport story.

But yeah no one cares....

Fewer people show up to the Shield than the SANFL.

Its popularity is on the level of local sport

10K turn up to regular NRL games, 80K turn up to a GF

That's true of most sports. 3k rock up weekly to SANFL matches then they get 35k for the final.

The problem is the Shield would get average crowds in the hundreds. Especially in the middle of the week. They could 10x their regular crowd and probably not even reach 5k people

5K wouldnt fit in KRO, and i think thats the main issue.

Thats on the SACA too.

"The Crows were also reported to have requested a financial incentive from the SA government in order to comply, which Mr Malinauskas shot down as ‘galling’."

I agree, where's the community citizenship? The Crows aren't a semi-destitute club that needs to screw the last $ out of every transaction.

After stuffing up the home base move for years they seem to be intent on demonstrating their tin-eared incompetence at every opportunity.

Just waiting for Nicks' contract to be extended in a couple of weeks, we don't want the uncertainty of what might happen at the end of next year.

PS - LIV golf seem to be making a better pitch for the parklands than we ever did. Would have been a way better venue and I wouldn't have to cope with the cognitive dissonance of using the Crows and Thebarton in the same sentence!

It wasn't the Crows, it was the AFL

In hindsight it’s a pity that the SMA didn’t establish a proper No. 2 ground, with Karen Roulton Oval only being a half-arsed effort.

The site needed more space, to surrounded by spectator mounds and spaces to support temporary stands for occasional big events if needed. Ideally it would have allowed for an MCG sized playing area that could be used by both the Crows and Port for training purposes in winter.

Basically what was built by the SAG in Mt Barker at a suitable place in the Parklands. In front of the racecourse grandstand in Victoria Park would have given that magnificent renovated old facility real purpose - and it could still host show jumping. Only real downside I can think off is the neighbouring parkland to the south being a building site for far too long each year for the Adelaide 500.

It’s not too late!

How quick can we get a drop in pitch in Mt Barker

SACA got their debt cleared, then jumped on the SMA gravy train and didn't give this a consideration....
