I think we can all agree that Wallace has had a significant effect on some players we thought were cactus since he came down to Punt road. Pettifer turned it around and has become a very decent pinch hitting HF, Raines has just come along in leaps and bounds, Simmonds has become one of the better ruckmen going around, Patty Bowden gave us something, Foley has got massive desire to continue improving himself (hardest worker at the club according to terry himself).

I guess the purpose of this thread is to put down ur wishlist of who youd like to see come on and surprise us with what he can offer this team, more so players that have been around for several years rather than 1 or 2 year players who will naturally evolve anyhow.

For mine-
Moore - I know he doesnt have many fans on this board and I s'pose i can understand why but I still feel hes worth one more shot and Im glad hes getting it. Tall players with plenty of toe about them dont grow on trees. I'd love for Terry to have a talk to the lad over the summer and let him know a position is there for him if hes good enough and committed enough to work towards it. Hell everyone knows we need a tall or 2 to stand up.

Jackson - Iv said it from day 1, he either makes it as a close checking defender ala Dale morris or he wont make it at all. Not a natural footballer, doesnt have the nous to ever play midfield and even though he shown glimpses up forward, isnt the type of player u could rely on for consistency...super athlete, good medium size, perfect for the backline..

make or break for both of these guys this year.

Yeah, I agree those two need to step up. If you are looking at older players I'd have to say-
Jay Shulz- we all know how baldy off for key backman we are and the staff seem to think he's the answer. I've got no doubt he would have played chb this year had he not been injured at the end of pre season. He needs some luck to get a proper crack at it.
Trent Knobel- he has to help Simmo this season. Pattison can't be expected to shoulder too much of the load just yet, although he is coming along well. All he needs to do is make a contest in the oppositon defence, push forward when he can and give first use to the midfielders at clearances. Give us a contest!
Funny, when you look for the longer term players who could improve, most have done something in 2006. It's really the guys who will be into their third and fourth year that the improvement needs to come from. Delidio is great of course and now its the kids Polo, Tambling, Meyer, McGuane, Pattison, Thursfield where the improvement needs to come from. Just another step forward is all we can ask.:)

Spot on. Would be sensational if one of these two could set up next year.

Either Jackson or Morris turning into a Dale Morris would be gold for the clubs future - but I frankly don't have too much hope for either of them.

make or break for both of these guys this year.

Couldn't agree more.

i want polak to set the world on fire. he has plenty to prove and contrary to popular belief actually did want to come to richmond. this guy has a big bag of tricks and i want to see them put to great use. polak for aa chb 2007 (all australian not alcoholics anonymous :D ). i also agree with moore and jackson and i would love to see limbach step up and become a dangerous forward for us.

Schulz for mine... would love to see him have one full injury free year to really show why we have invested in such hidden talent.

FWIW... everyone has forgotten to mention what Wallace has done for Tucky and how instrumental he has been in turning into a rough diamond. Wallace goes real well with these little assignments. Next test: Polak. I have confidence! :thumbsu:

Moore can be a good player I reckon. He has the height and some athleticism plus its good to take a risk with 1-2 players like this because if he comes off he is another tall along with Polak down back and that could be very handy.

With Jackson it's just finding the position. If he gets the right position I think he can be valuable - without becoming a star. He doesn't have the silky skills or ball magnet abilities but he can play a versatile role when need be. A good depth player I reckon.

Pattison - Needs to improve in a variety of areas. One being his awareness. His skills will never be great but he has commitment and determination which will keep him solid.

Knobel - Just another ruckman. A poorly skilled ruckman. I guess the best we can do with Knobel is get his tapping to a maximum. He's a big unit and can win a lot of tap outs. Getting them as effective as possible will be the best we can do with Trent I reckon.

I'll keep going as I think of more.

Hope we get a bit more of a look at JON and Casserely next year. Looking forward to see what these boys have got.

Agree with those two , couple of real smokies there .

Schulz is staring right down the barrel at the crossroads for mine ... make or break year , has to step and actually do something more than a cameo or two per game .

Pettifer to maintain is early season form of last year . Big watch to see if it was just a flash in the pan or not .

Cleve Hughes .. want to see him put 5 kilo`s on over summer and see him show us a bit ... could be huge for us if he comes on
