Pretty sour way for the season to officially end. Just coming from too far back and the good injury luck we had last year has just flipped completely.

Enjoyed the first half but jeez they played one of the best quarters of footy you would want to see in the 3rd and just broke us.

Pressure off now so we'll see if Cox starts to experiment with the side and see what kind of cattle we have to come back next year.

Drop Roberts, said it for months, he turned the game in the third ,

Yes everyone went to shit, but he is a liability as is Blakey right now

Yuck game

Great first half, great team effort to garbage

The injuries didnt help but we have seen that before, just a shame to piss away an almost perfect first half

McLean for Ladhams
Rampe for McCartin
Hamling for Snell
Blakey for Fox
Roberts for Cleary
Papley for Dattoli
Jmac for Hanily or Bice
Sub one of the last 2 guys or Campbell

Apologise to Wayne Milera

That's as bad of a loss as I can remember.

Giants are a good team. But the way we completely capitulate when there is a little bit of adversity is so depressing.

Sums up the last 12 years.

Small positive is that now we are officially out of the finals, we can give some younger players a game. I don't have much confidence that is what will happen though.

Agree on Roberts. Has been guarding nothing but grass all season.

I might be being harsh but I thought he was a bit overrated last year. Our midfield were getting beat so he was racking up possessions from the opposition kicking the ball down his throat over and over.

First half was probably one of our better halves of the season. Our contest and use off the spread was great. Unfortunately there'll always be deep down a mental weakness with team.

From the nature of the game itself, you reap what you sow with the lack of pressure forwards in the team. Poor and shallow entries in the third term, couldn't win a contest in the forward 50, they'd bounce off half back way too easily and score. Been one of our biggest issues.

Buller and Francis compete hard but they're battlers in comparison to their matchups. Thought we missed out on McLeans and Amartey's aerial ability big time.

Blakey really needs to add a composure string to his bow. There's just rarely a feeling of security when he has ball in hand.

12 goals conceded in a row is pretty much all mental, still a concern with the lack of leadership at the club. No ability to control the tempo late in that second with a barrage of hack kicks.

Players totally shellshocked, not the first time with this group.

Just a year to write off really. Too inconsistent with our strengths, reset and sharpen up.

No Roberts was hitting targets last season from HB its sadly been a dramatic downfall in that area perhaps he feels more pressure this season?

We lost the mids in the second half. We got mauled and Cox did lol **** all. We needed to get hold of Callihan and kick the effing shit our of him. But we didn't. We just gave in. Our mids were about as effective as a dumbo bomb. Cox didn't change much. He just decided to keep the same bullshit going. By the time he set Paps free it was far too late.

I fluctuate between thinking the mental scars are real, change the list up . Keep the core but change the best 22 make up with some swaps and mini reset, versus write 2025 off everything that could go wrong has and just tweak and back list growth for next year. I think somewhere in the middle. Maybe

At half time it felt like this could happen.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Gus is now gone. Had a good Q1 then Cox stuck him in the forward pocket or on the bench for the rest of the game.

Why pick an inside mid and then do that? Baffling.

Rowy a shadow of his best.

Campbell can’t get near it. Cox seems to have become addicted to using him in a “negating role”. Disaster tonight.

JJ had his colours lowered by Callaghan. Big time.

But honestly - it felt like the momentum shift began late in Q2 with Blakey, Warner and Errol trying to be too cute. All had embarrassing games.

Team selection next week will be interesting. It’ll give the insight into whose going to be on the list in 2026.

I am glad the season is over, just confirms there is a lot of gaps to fill, but we remain mentally weak as a club and we need to move some players on in order to get better. I hope go hard at the trade table in order to see this list improve otherwise we better get used to more performances like this.

Honestly I think a decent kpf changes everything for us next year.. to be competitive for a half with Francis and Buller as our two kpfs is good enough.. no wonder we couldn’t score after half time against the best backline in the league.

Make that fwd line Amartey/McDonald/JUH and it’s far more dynamic.. would make a huge difference.

Early in the third quarter it felt like it was going to be the Suns game all over again. Just had the same feel

Not sure what the scores were at HT of that game. Maybe something similar
