So, no AFL has been to China before???
And Melbourne did very well out of it.

As we now enter another exciting AFL finals series, it’s amazing to reflect how much the great Australian game has become part of the Australian ‘brand’. For example, in Shanghai last year, when Melbourne played the Brisbane Lions in an exhibition game for the Shanghai Expo, the exploits of the exciting young indigenous footballer Liam Jurrah, impressed the owners of Russian software company Kaspersky so much, that they were very happy that they’d signed up as the club’s major sponsor and as the backer of the Kaspersky Cup.

Chad Wingard should win us a couple of million dollars in sponsorship revenue.

You dont want to give up a game in Adelaide to play in China!!

KTs interview on SEN

When asked why another team should give up their home game, he said that PAFC had a contractual obligation to AO so it couldn't be our home game. He said that before they went down this track, the PAFC had spoken to a number of clubs who were 'willing to have a conversation'. He wouldn't say what they would get paid but said that it would be commercially advantageous for them and it would open up opportunities for them. KT reminded Andy that there are similar arrangements that go on in the AFL every year (NT, Tas).

The lack of detail about that figure. It's another smokescreen at this stage. Multi millions to who? Game development in China, PAFC or the AFL?

TV deal, nice, but given those rights belong to the AFL, what do PAFC generate from this?

You want them to read out all the paperwork during the initial announcement? :drunk:

So, you want a handout from another club theno_O
I heard KT rang Fagan first as he wanted to see if the minnows down the road wanted a piece of the action. But alas they have the same contract as Port has with the SMA.
