I watched 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose', very good story and film overall. Don't understand how it's scary though, Paranormal Activity was a lot scarier than this.

Its not really a horror flick, its more a psychological drama I guess. The last 30-40 minutes is all drama, but halfway through when they do the exorcism it starts getting pretty freaky, especially in the barn.

Its not an out and out scary movie, but I think its a very good movie none the less.

I just finished watching the original cut of Paranormal Activity then. At home alone, lights off, headphones on, laying down with the laptop. Now thats what I call a movie!! Bloody good movie. I cant imagine watching that in a cinema full of most likely morons and getting the same effect. One jumpy moment and a couple of real shiver down the spine moments. I love it. My sort of movie!

Will be interesting to see how the theatrical version differs, particularly the ending. I liked this version though.

Micah and Kate were both paid $543 AUD.

Also, of course they're not dead brandonthegimp, this movie isn't a snuff film.

Apparently it took only 7 days to shoot and only had a couple of people involved - mostly Oren Pelis friends. Its a small indie flick, probably in no way expecting what has since happened. The actors were paid $1000 between them.

No need to build sets, no camera guys, no sound techs, only 4-5 actors....why wouldnt it cost this much?

Yeah Watched it today was pretty good movie, the ending was the best.

cost 15 grand to make and i think they've made over 100 million back, not a bad profit.

Ok I got sucked in and thought it was real.

I think because they thanked the police dept at the beginning of the movie fooled me. lol

Anyways I finished watching it at 4am and was a bit nervy and scared.

It was different and original and thats why I liked it.

A little slow would be the only criticism.

I think they could have come up with something better though. It ended too quickly IMO, each scare was building up quite nicely and would liked to have seen a bit more.

Yeah, return on investment. I think it doesnt count marketing costs, because I'm pretty sure Paranormal Activity had a few million spent on marketing.

I loved this movie and I loved how they made it. So I went out and bought The Blair Witch Project. Holy shit that was a terrible movie. I'd heard all about how scary this movie was so I was really exited. NOTHING flipping HAPPENS! I was just waiting for it to be scary, and it never came. Could of been alot better

The Exorcist is scarier and for a good ending people should check out "Angel Heart".
