Hard enough watching League teams without BT but even harder listening to the dribble which flows from Parkin. Was doing his usual A B C graders etc and he has Simpson as an A grader for them and Ball as a B grader.....Pickering called him out on it but you lack crèd as a commentator when u talk that crap. To top it off he had Robinson as a B grader and wellingham as a C grader.

They had him doing the game analysis as well and he's saying 'we Carlton'. What's sort of independant game analysis can he do when he is clearly so biased. Rather here from Derm or Pickers

I'd put Simpson as a B- and Robison as a C+.

Ball and Welligham I'd class as B-. Ball can lift at the right times, but his field kicking needs some work, like we worked on his kicking distance. Sharrod could be B+ to A-, but needs application.

Simpson is fairly reliable but is as high as he'll go right now. Robinson could be B- at peak.

Well I honestly think Parkin is Past it as a Commentator and Rating Players.

I did sense some man love for Simpson from him.

Most time I see the A,B,C Grades come out they change so much it's not funny

Don't have cable to get the opportunity to see Parkin.

I agree with most of your thoughts.

I don't know how Parkin has graded them and assuming no "+" grades.

My gradings would be:

Carlton:

A grade:
Murphy (2)
Judd (3)
Gibbs (6)

B grade:
Simpson (8)
Scotland (9)
Carrazzo (10)
Robinson (13)

Collingwood:

A grade:
Pendlebury (1)
Swan (4)
Thomas (5)
Ball (7)

B grade:
Beams (11)
Sidebottom (12)
Wellingham (14)

On the midfields I like Carlton's midfield more with the pure quantity of depth. Their best 22 goes deeper and there is better injury cover with the likes of McLean and Ellard among other capable mids, but the top ends are very, very even.

As for the game tomorrow night I like Carlton. Collingwood playing Sinclair, Wood and Keeffe doesn't give me any confidence against an in form premiership contendor who are getting excellent defenders back. Will be a great test for both teams and will give us some idea where we are at and what to expect from Carlton for this year.

I agree with Sinclair and Keeffe at the moment they don't fill me with Confidence. Not sure on Woo Though.

I don't think it will give us a True Idea where we are at this Game. We still missing some good players and a Strong FB in Brown or Tarrant

This is the closest we have come to being able to play our best side so far this year. Tarrant is certainly in that best side. No doubt. N.Brown even if healthy and in form I would not play against Carlton. Their forwardline is too tall and with Reid + Tarrant as key defenders this is more than suffient. But against a West Coast with the 3 legitimate key forwards without a doubt having Brown in the side later in the year could be a nice option.
Didak and Johnson are the other two who still need to come back into the senior side and if they can both hit some form could add some real value to our best side.

I've never got allot of confidence out of any of Wood's recent efforts. He is someone who needs to ruck the whole game or not be played at all. When he does ruck he doesn't win the contests with his best being able to make a ruck contest into a stalemate by limiting the effectiveness of the oppositions tap. At boundary throwins he regularly gets pushed out of the way and loses those contests consistantly due to lack of core strength and strength through the legs. Up forward doesn't provide a target whether that be a marking presence or someone who can bring it to ground, then also doesn't apply any tackling pressure.

If Cam starts producing I want him in the team. I want the best team possible to be out there. But with Cam in our best 22 it really shows the weakness at the no.2 ruck spot and shows that it is one of the few positions where we can't field a high level AFL quality performer.

I'm allot more confident with Lachie Keeffe than I was 2 weeks ago. He has been seriously good and deserves the 3rd week without a doubt. Really loved the way he has turned it around after that poor first NAB Cup game. But I'm still not confident he can do his job every week and I'm hoping this isn't the week he struggles because I expect with someone fairly new to the lineup some real ups and down performances.

Against Carlton ideally I'd like to see us play as a smaller back 6 with Tarrant in the side instead of Keeffe - which of course cannot be done this week with Tarrant unavailable. Tarrant would be great to have because he can play tall and small. I can see Keeffe getting caught out when one of Hampton/Kreuzer are interchanged - which will leave Keeffe with a small which as a 204cm key defender will be interesting to watch.

But great test for all of Keeffe, Wood and Sinclair. Big game against a big time team and great rival so if they can produce tonight then that is a big step forward and shows that we might have a little more depth than we thought.

Personally I don,t care what Parkin says and agree with Ed d he is too bias to give much credence to.

I have a nasty feeling they may get up tonight they are looking more settled than us,although we are getting players back none of them have had much game time and not at the level of tonights game.

I will say one thing though unless they win tonight they are no chance of turning it around later in the season which I think we can,so all in all maybe the blues just but we can and will turn it around later in the season,at both teams best we are better as Parkin and the others will discover later later this year.

Hang on ... Walls actually said this, too: "So a win over a somewhat vulnerable Magpie outfit is a must."

He stubbornly accepts that we are not at our peak powers yet, and that Carlton has to win against a weakened side while they can.

Anyway, it's round three...we thought premierships were won in pre-season last year, and look what it got us - a team knackered by round 16 that limped into a grand final.

Long way to go, but games like these are great for the crowd, not for forecasts.

Game should be a Beauty but you still can't say who is the more likely to be better this year after tonights game

Thats a pretty fair assessment and grading ..although i don't believe Ball to be an A grader ..as for Parkin on League Teams showing bias ..well they have Tony Shaw sitting next to him counteracting with his Collingwood bias . ;)

People lean toward the teams they are/have been affiliated with ..it's just the nature of the Beast .

Looking forward to tonights game ..lets hope it's a cracker !
