You’re not following the way the system works.

It will very likely be graded as careless, no-one is saying it was intentional. Those are the only two options.

Then they look at where the contact occurred. I think we can all agree it was high, as opposed to body contact.

Then they look at severity of impact. This is the only part in any sort of doubt in my view. It won’t be medium as a concussion occurred. It can be high, which is 2 weeks, or severe, which is a tribunal referral and 3 weeks or more.

So that’s your range, 2 weeks to whatever the tribunal decides. I think he’s unlikely to get 4 like Stewart as there was less time to react, so in my view 2-3 weeks.

Rioli’s situation is not relevant as it was a marking contest. They’re not the same.

I'm saying it was intentional. If he didn't intend to bump wtf was he doing? He may or may not have intended to knock out Ah Chee, but that is irrelevant.

It should be graded as 3 weeks. But he will get 2 coz that suits the AFL better.

I think people have their wires crossed with the Rioli one. That it was a marking contest is only relevant to the level of conduct. Because it was a marking contest, it was graded as careless conduct.

He was saved because the tribunal deemed that it was not unreasonable contact in the circumstances. I don't think the same defence will save Cripps, and really, it shouldn't have saved Rioli, which is probably best demonstrated by the fact that the AFL indicated they were considering challenging the Rioli verdict.

The Rioli verdict was just flat out wrong and now it's opened up all kinds of possible loopholes from the precedent it set. People were saying that then and it's taken a few months but now we're seeing the arguments that can be made due to it. Cripps should get weeks, and Rioli should have gotten weeks as well. But Carlton will definitely use it to try and argue the case down a week or so.

I know what you're saying and totally get it but it's a bit stupid that because Cripps didn't hit Rowell who has one of the hardest heads in the game that he gets punished harder. Because Cripps hit definitely wasn't as impactful as Rioli's.

I know what you're saying and totally get it but it's a bit stupid that because Cripps didn't hit Rowell who has one of the hardest heads in the game that he gets punished harder. Because Cripps hit definitely wasn't as impactful as Rioli's.

You can’t treat both hits as identical + if you’ve seen Cal play you’d know he is one of our tougher players and takes a lot of big hits. It’s rolling the dice when you do what Cripps did. That’s the risk. I think we are past seeing acts like that on the football field.

It compromised a players health and achieved nothing for the other team, other than a likely suspension.

It’s my entire role in this universe. I was born to do this. So to say that I would really appreciate you to link these clips would be an understatement. Please help fulfil my destiny.

All can be true at once, the only thing that isn't true is the good guy defense for Cripps which is why this all started.

Not even in the same ballpark as the Stewart hit and no where near the 4+ weeks people are wanting here.

Initial hit is careless medium impact to the head which is one week. Ah Chee hitting his head on the ground makes it high impact and you get two weeks. Seems pretty obvious but who knows how the AFL play it nowadays.

2 weeks if High impact. If Ah Chee had to go to hospital then its Severe and 3 weeks.

Voss said he went for the ball but his arm was tucked for the bump. If both arms were outstretched then I think a defence could be made.
