  • PAUL Medhurst was seen as no more than a set of steak knives.
It was the type of deal the guy from Demtel would have loved. Chris Tarrant to Fremantle, pick No. 8 to Collingwood . . . but, wait, there's more.
Medhurst, the little sweetener, helped seal it.
Yet Medhurst is steak knives no more. Try the whole crockery set.
Medhurst has become a key element of a hardened Pies outfit since being traded by Fremantle.
Tarrant, the big-ticket item in the deal at the end of 2006, is in danger of being dropped for the Dockers' derby against West Coast on Saturday.
He is in the biggest dry spell of his career.
Tarrant has kicked one goal in five matches - the final three rounds of 2007 and the first two of 2008.
In that time, he has averaged just 3.8 marks and 7.8 disposals a game. Not once in those games has Tarrant taken a contested mark.
Medhurst took three contested grabs in the wet against the Brisbane Lions on Friday night at the Gabba and finished with 10.
In his past eight games for the Pies, Medhurst is averaging 13.8 disposals, 1.5 goals and 6.5 marks.
Adding further pain to Fremantle is the fact Ben Reid, taken with No. 8 by the Pies, shows the hallmarks of a long-term key forward.

We have a cut and paste maestro in our presence.

Don't people even add their own thoughts on other peoples' articles anymore?

God knows what sort of troll he was trying to attempt.

I mean I was going to come back with "Knife? Perhaps he got it off Didak and his biker mates!"

Didak prefers guns..

As for the content of the article, Tarrant had a decent season last year. He hasn't done much this season, in fact hes been bloody woeful, but I'm sure he'll get some form back. When he does, don't expect any good press for him.

Medhurst couldn't get a game for us in his last season, and his attitude wasn't helping the situation either. I'm glad he is playing well for Collingwood, used to love watching him play for us. Never forget the day he got 9. He is a champ and, like Tarrant, is yet to play his best for his new club.

Stop trying to pump up medhurst we know he is crap as well.

Medhurst is a poor man's Headland.

Hes bound to lose his nut somewhere and go completley wacko at someone. :thumbsu:

Haha the same Paul Medhurst that had multiple chances to win the game for Collingwood last week but blew them???

Gee some people write crap. Medders is as ever...... a possible matchwinner on his day, but way too inconsistent and can't kick the big team goal when needed. That's why we got rid of him.

You say the above and yet have farmer in your avatar.....

"it's like rain on your wedding day.....etc"

If that's the criteria shouldn't you get rid of the whole team?

Well if they ever win 26 wooden spoons we'll consider that

Yeah great material there. Collingwood love their dud forwards. Tarrant, Rocca. Maybe we should get Brad Rowe back down there?

Thanks for the advice, coming from the losingest club of all time you can imagine how highly we regard it

The advice actually comes from me. My views do not represent those of the St.Kilda football club. I can see your inferior Collingwood brain is struggling with this concept.

....and after your brilliant work offloading him you also gave up pick 8 (or, if you wish, pick 13 + Polak) for a bloke who is... a possible matchwinner on his day, but way too inconsistent and can't kick the big team goal when needed.

Or, currently it seems, any goal at all.

Regardless of who they give up, Freo sure do trade in a lot of hacks. Tarrant, Solomon, Johnson, Bradley. They aren't going to win you games, or add much of anything to your team, they are just hacks.
It's nice of them to look after the old folks though. Fremantle - the nursing home of the AFL. If you want to discard them, no worries, we'll take them in.

I love footy--not one team.

Freo would truly be Freo if it was comprised of Easts and South; including their colours.

Then I would like them !:D

All good. As long as you can handle the abuse that will inevitabally come your way.
