just wondering what the deal is with him. do ya think he will definetely be traded, has anything been said about him regarding trades? id love him at Port

He should be playing for Claremont in the finals but was withdrawn on Freo's request. He's a chance to play this coming friday, otherwise why would we withdraw him.

Any word on wether Murph is palying for SF today?

I would say he was in the same situation as Medhurst. The club didn't want him going into Friday night with just a 5 day break so he would have sat out the Souths v Subi game.

Yeah that's right. Bummer, really. Cos we probably would've won and gone straight to the GF if Murph was playing... :o

Grover and Hasleby look like missing the game against Melbourne so Murphy will almost certainly play for Freo this week. Another marking player is important as it gives us greater flexibility with Pavlich. Not sure who else to play, Webster? A strong performance in Sptember would increase the trade value of Medhurst or Polak but bringing in Polak and Murphy would give us too many talls IMHO. Hopefully they don't go for Slowfields finals experience.

Fine weather forecast for Friday night.

Yeah, I know all that. But Souths only went down to Subi by 7 points in the last few minutes this afternoon. A bagful from Murph at FF could have made all the difference... :(

But at least he will be well rested and very fresh. :thumbsu:

And very, very short of match practice and fitness.

On the Medhurst thing...was he rested because he is a genuine chance to play next weekend??? I couldn't see how, unless Farmer is carrying an injury we don't know about.

something is amiss.

All the guys who are in the mix for selection are dreadfully short of match practice to enter a final.

Murphy, Polak, Medhurst, Webster.

Duffield is probably in the mix too, although coming off a five day break after playing today may rule him out. With Jamar out we could probably go with Duff in for Groves (if necessary), as we may not have a resting ruckman to contend with in the back-line.

Webster should be ok fitness-wise I think (correction, I hope). He is the most likely to come in for Hase.

I honestly don't think Murphy will be given a run. He has missed a lot of running with the foot injury, and would be going in too underdone.
