Sigh! Just analogies mate. I should have expected your response.

But I'm part of the Army...you can do your evaluating...I'm going to war!
Good for you. I'm going to war too. Just in my own way i dont need my fellow supporters tick of approval..It does not mean i dont want success any less than any other bugger.

Melbourne haven't made finals for 10 years & won a whole 2 more games than us, in a year where we see it as a complete and utter failure.

Pretty sure we also played a younger side than them - so they can't really play that card on us.

Someone needs to remind Roo's that this club has never been so desperate that we have tanked entire seasons nor voted ourselves out of existence.

Melbourne finished 11th. We finished 13th. It's hardly something to crow about.

For all Roo's decorated success, he has only won 1 more premiership in his career than Richmond have in that same time. And even that was a decade ago.

Facts are a bitch

Hopefully our club and everyone in it can take that piece of ammunition and use it in a positive way.
Now that's one thing our club has been poor at.
Centenary game against Carlton, every Tiger supporter could have walked through brick walls the lead up to that game and we didn't give a whimper.
Tom Hafey game against the Dees, same scenario.

Who gives a **** what Roos says. After the last couple of days of Richmond inspired bullshit its a fair cop.

So how many final series did Paul Roos lead Melbourne into in the past 3 years? ... Advice from the former coach of a club notorious for making silk purses into sows ears ... a tired old man who can insert his opinion you know where

Neville Crowe is the reason Richmond exists today and many a Melbourne fan would like to think that Jim Stynes is the Melbourne equivalent, yet the only reason their club is around is because Hawthorn fans voted no a out the merger. Had they voted the same way as the Melbourne fans did then Melbourne wouldn't exist. Now to be fair Stynes did some great work with Melbourne and did help them get rid of their debt, only for the club to once again plunge back into debt after his passing when their incompetence saw them go through coaches like a hooker goes through clients on payday. Then their football dept actively encourages tanking for picks, which works a charm as Scully leaves, Trengove falters, Watts is a bigger failure than Vickery until this year and a number of others lasted less than 3 years before they were shipped on or out.

So for all our troubles over the last 3 decades we're not in the same league as Melbourne when it comes to being in disarray they have been that way for 50 odd years.

I love you when you get angry!

“And we’ve never got to the point as a football club where there has been breakaway groups and past players etc think they can overthrow boards and I think that’s a credit to every single person that has followed the Melbourne Football Club.”

Wow, this bloke is terribly ignorant of MFC's recent history! Completely Non-sensical waffle anyway, why would absence of board challenges Be a credit to the average fan?!

Either the guy's obsessed with us, or they are white-anting us to grab a player.

Add three finals.
We don't fire a shot in games that should matter.

This. It's amazing how Melb supporters assume they will make the 8 next year and top 4 the next. I just laugh in their faces. Club wouldn't exist without AFL bailouts or the "crazy Diamond Joes" type.
Diamond Joe... All that money yet he didn't know that anti dandruff shampoo existed.

Completely agree. I would say that Hafey game was the lowest point for me as a supporter & showed just how fundamentally mentally weak the playing group was. Yep, they came back and had that amazing run to sneak into 8th - but that season will be remembered for that performance and the 1st quarter drubbing we copped against Port, unfortunately

It was so sweet that after blowing his own trumpet about how he left Melbourne in such better shape they go and get beaten by Carlolton then get thrashed by 100+ points the following week in two games that would have left the finals door open for them had they won, can you imagine the uproar had that end to a season been delivered by Richmond(well we did but we had no chance of finals).

I could have coached Melbourne and got them to 11th after all they only have about half a team of very early picks after tanking and failing so badly for years.

Absolute campaigner of a man, I just hope we still have enough heart to put those words of his away until we play Melbourne next year.

Leaving out finals records because Roos was given a billion extra dollars to play with than us, Paul Roos coached for 11 full home and away seasons and one half season of 10 games and was given every conceivable concession the AFL could throw his way and his best W/L record was 15-7 which he achieved once in his AFL gifted flag year, Dimma on the other hand has achieved 15-7 with no extra billion dollars in the cap, no AFL influenced zone picks, no AFL influenced dodgy tribunal ( hall ) no AFL gifted double up compo picks etc etc etc .................................................................................................................

TWICE.

I wish I could retweet this

Possibly truth, but still, there is nothing that riles Tigers supporters more than any comment from someone outside the club.
Our feelings of inadequacy always provoke rage from Tigers supporters.
Shows why a review is pointless ... we are so receptive, even hostile, to outside opinion.
Never met a supporter that isn't that way about their club, do you #ecos have to shine a negative light on everything about this club:rolleyes:

Damn the rags write up some shit, here is Roos record after 3 years at the helm of a club given everything possible to assist them including Roos himself, he is hailed as a master coach
ROOS AWAKENING

THE LADDER

Year: Coach, Finish (W, L, %, QW)

2013: Mark Neeld, 17th (2, 20, 54.1%, 20)

2014: Paul Roos, 17th (4, 18, 68.4%, 30)

2015: Paul Roos, 13th (7, 15, 77%, 35)

2016: Paul Roos, 10th (10, 11, 103.5%, 42*)

Compare that to Hardwick who started with the worst team since Fitzroy and is bagged in most quarters of the media

2009 Wallace 15th 5, 15, 1, 74.29%
2010 Hardwick 15th 6, 16, 73%
2011 Hardwick 12th 8, 13, 1 86.35%
2012 Hardwick 12th 10, 11, 1 111.63%

So Hardwick did a slightly better job in the same time as Roos yet Hardwick apparently cant coach and Roos is the Messiah?

Who ever said Roos was the Messiah? Besides no one!

It's the media darling effect, anyone associated with a club or the club it self can do no wrong when you are a media darling and if you do do something wrong or have a bad season the media is there ready to offer up a million excuses about why it happened.

Bullflogs, Druggies and Rabblebourne are all media darlings.
