Do you think his future is assured or could he be traded.

CC has said that he wants to fill the side with locals as they are cheaper to retain.

While I would hate to see him go I would not be too upset if he could be used to bring both Stenglien orKerr AND J Carr to Freo.

Flame away.

Absolutely 100% Rip. I think the club will remember that the re-signing of Pav was a giant step forward for Freo. Don't be fooled by media and others, he may not have excelled this year, but his performances were still of very good quality. And the best of Pav is yet to come.

Carr and Stenglein would be too good to refuse. Imagine this team.

B: Hayden Haddrill Parker
HB: Headland Polak Thornton
C: Stenglein J.Carr Walker
HF: M. Carr McPharlin Schammer
F: Farmer Simmonds Murphy
R: JLo Hazelby Bell

Int: Dunn, Webster, Cook, Sandilands

Plus all these guys on the list. That could be used regularly throughout the season to have fresh legs entering all the time.

Medhurst, McManus, Browne, Gilmore, Grover, TLo, Siegert, Woods. Im probably forgetting someone.

Thats a fair bit of list depth right there. I remember someone mentioning that it took about 30 players to be AFL ready for a premiership team. Looks pretty sweet. One thing is for sure. If the right deal became available im sure that we'd jump at the chance.

Adelaide's 1st pick + Stenglein = Pav. Adelaide's 1st pick = J.Carr. Wishful thinking but who knows.

Im pretty sure Connolly is going to take a punt at something this year. Because if he hasn't done something significant by the end of 2005. He might go bye bye. His punt might be to keep the current list together though, and on his record, looks the likely option.

If you actually played him forward where he could complete one-on-one, he would be a match winner, and be the CHF Freo needs. Simmo is a ruckman, not a FF.

Time to trade your coach IMO.

Your location description suits well - you are simply regurgitating crap.

(1) I believe Simmonds is doing a decent job at full forward and will continue to grow in this position.

(2) Pav was required to play in the mid field. If he had been put at CHF all year, our forward line would probably have seen even less of the ball.

(3) Thankfully your opinion counts for jack.

I'm not convinced that Pav is the great white hope at CHF.

I would be happy for Pollie to be given the big job at CHB and McPharlin wanders down to the CHF possie, with Pav playing Hird like roving around the midfield - forward areas.

As for trades, anything could happen but keep in mind that Stenglein has a preference for the Eagles and Josh wants to relive the backyard stoushes with big broth at Freo.

Maybe if we did get Josh he should be kept at the opposite end of the field to Matt .... could be camel bites allround.

I don't think Carr + Stenglein would come close to equalling Pav. Not just in footballing ability but Pav is a huge name, is young, and has the potential to become a top 5 player, Carr and Stenglein don't seem to have a hell of alot of improvement left in them.

Pav needs to improve, sure, but 1 average season shouldn't be enough to look for a quick fix.

We would be absolutely mad to trade Pavlich for Carr and Stenglein.

Let's not forget he's 22 and twice AA, B&F and Vice Captain.

I for one think he could be a very very good forward if settled there and not just left there for 10 mins and a quarter. In 2001 when he was played forward, he looked very promising and even in 2003, the several times he played forward he looked very damaging. CHB might be his best role but whatever role he has, it has to be a settled one... not thrown from position to position. He is our best player that has had a down year by his standards, but at his best, he is as good as anyone in the competition. Yeah, we don't see it enough but to trade him would be a huge mistake. As Parkin said, it's all about Pavlich and how good he becomes will probably determine how good we will be as a club over the next few years.

And while I'm here, Simmonds is not the answer at FF. Wouldn't be suprised to see him traded to be honest.

If you want to swap Pav for a bloke who racks up about 10 disposals a game, doesnt kick goals, has poor disposal and wants to play for the eagles then go right ahead.

Frankly I would prefer the guy who gets 20 possies a game, kicks goals, is a beautiful long kick and wants to play for Freo.

If we do trade Pav, Im sure we could get a bit more than #$$^%@ Tyson Stenglein. I support Subi and I still dont like or rate this guy.

If Chris Connolly tries to trade Pav the WAFC should step in and sack him immediately and install a coach with half a brain.

Yep, Sumich would without doubt be one of the Candidates ;)

Sorry for intruding on your board but I think you would like to know that Adelaide are having a fair crack at brining Pavlich to the Crows and we are prepared to part with Stinger, Perrie and Pick 8 for Pav and your later pick or a player.

Yeah Adelaide may be having a crack at him but hes contracted for a further 3 years, if he was out of contract i could see it happening but we hold the whip hand. Its up to Adelaide to come up with a suitable trade. It would be very doubtful they could.

While Pav hasn't taken games apart this season, he has played well.
If he's traded this year the club may as well give it all away.
Sure 1 player doesn't make the club itself, but if their decision making is that poor, we will never move forward.
