If we had Pavlich, we would the premiership next year, without a doubt in my mind!

I'm drooling at the prospect of Pavlich in blue and white hoops!

Haha! How I wish this rumour would be true!

Dream on , the Pav is not going anywhere.

Really its amazing the attention this sort of .5% trade action gets. Lets think about our side, there is hardly a player in it that didnt come via the draft, therefore its this method that has allowed us to develop into a half reasonable side. Lets stick to what works and get the kids.

Would love to have Pavlich at Geelong, ********ing superstar he is, but it wont happen. We better not give Bartel up unless we get someone of Pav's quality

Supertramp once had a song called Dreamer.
With all due respects guys, that's where you are.
And I can only think by some of the trades mentioned that you guys also read too much of the Collingwood boards: give nothing and expect the world.
Pavlich is a three times AA: a genuine star.
Anyone who thinks they can pick him up for an average player plus a draft pick better start drinking something a bit stronger.
And for the record, he bought a new house a couple of months ago.
He ain't goin' nowhere man.
Go work a deal for Woewodin or something.

I live in Freo and there havent been any rumours about Pav leaving the dockers and I really dont think they would give Pav up. But with saying that the dockers are in need of a good hard working midfielder. Here is there current midfield.

Hedland Bell M.Carr J. Carr Peake and sometimes Walker,Webster,Schammer and Mc Manus. If you were to add Bartel to that it would sure give them a leg up. However if this trade deal were to come up I dont think we should trade Jimmy I think Corey should be traded because his a west australian and arguably as good as jimmy. If I were Bomber and this came up I'd take it and bring the big Pav to Geelong.

Yeah Pav's speech at the Australian dinner would suggest he is not going anywhere.

But it doesn't mean I can have might first decent night sleep since last Thursday thinking happy thoughts about GFC

You could have Judd, Pavlich and a full list to choose from and it still wouldn't do an ounce of good.

Learning from experience, Geelong just hasn't got the mentality to go all the way. A perfect example is the management of the footy club. How the hell did the club get into such a mess financially years ago? Whilst it has good leadership now, there still is the underlying issue of what the current management have to face - not being able to cater for a record breaking membership with a pathetic excuse of a home ground only allowing 25,000 people! The new stand is great but only a band aid fix as far as I'm concerned!

You are just a tool! And not a true supporter, so why bother coming onto this board?

Once again pardon my ignorance, but isn't it the players that win premierships...not the management. I really don't know about that theory. And of the subject of Pavlich, he won't leave. If he were to go it would probably be back to SA and if, IF, Geelong ever had a chance of getting him it would be Bartel, first round pick and Joel Corey to head back home to secure him. But we must remember how Geelong got to where it is. Draft picks and good trades for average players (Mooney, Harley, Kingsley etc.)
Leave Pav alone I suggest.

Where did this ridiculous rumour about Pavlich wanting to leave start? He's not going anywhere. Despite Freo's litany of disasters in the draft and at the trading table there is no way they're going to let go of their only superstar. The only reason Freo would let him go is if he wanted to go home to his family in SA. He had that chance a couple of years ago when his contract was renewed and he decided then that he wanted to stay in Perth. Like Sailor stated, he's bought a new house and he's also invested in a new pub so I think he's staying put.

If you want to talk about any Freo player with talent then Polak is the man about whom there have been some whispers. He didn't have a good year this year. His head didn't seem to be in the right place. He's a talented tall who takes an exceptional mark but not too sure about his kicking though.

I agree with 9th life that team chemistry and loyalty are too important to muck around with. We tinkered with it last year in our desperate effort to get Ottens so I think we should leave it there and work with what we've got. Hopefully Ottens will have a better year with injury in 2006. Give Henry another year to show if he's got what we need at CHF and see how Nathan comes on. Beyond that we've got Tom Hawkins to look forward to.

At the risk of looking like I've posted on the wrong board check out the following website: http://www.matera.com.au/historyofdockers/
Beware, it takes a while to download but it's very funny. It's from a Docker supporter who finally had enough after 10 years of trading and recruiting disasters.

Finally if Bartel really wants to go then so be it - get what you can for him but I wouldn't be trading anyone with talent who didn't want to go in order to take a punt on someone with CHF potential.

Just a little perspective. The Cats gave pick 8 for Jason Mooney, who in the end was an injury riddeld ordinary KPP.

If Pav was actually available, which of course he is in your dreams, then do you think any of the teams with the first picks would give up both of them (say Collingwood for pick 2&5). I would think in a heartbeat. Course it isn't going to happen.

I would have thought a real;istic exchange would involve Geelongs very best player, perhaps Scarlett, plus your first rounder; which of course isn't going to happen.

Pav is not going anywhere.

If he was he is unobtainable for any team other than the Adelaide sides. Even then it would have to be because pav wanted it and was uncontracted for it to happen. Then it would be almost suicide for them to achieve it without destroying their team.

Judd, Reiwodt are probably in the same league. Almost untradeable.

Agree. Before I go back to the Dockers Board, has there been any trade between the two clubs since Wills and O'Reilly were exchanged for King and....Milburn??? (Can't remember who Geelong got for Wills).

After his first month of footy i was expecting a ********ing champion. He started in a blaze of glory like most of his clan, before tailing off quite quickly.

I remember one of his first games where he tore Fremantle a new arse, did it so easy.
