I thought he was our best player tonight and a hell of a lot better than he was in 2008 and maybe 2007 as well. Ran hard, kicked goals and covered a lot of ground. That's the Peake we used to love. Looks like the hype re: Peaker was deserved, at least on the basis of this one game.

Terrible team performance tonight but I thought Peake was a shining light. :thumbsu:

Yes Peake played really well tonight.

Decision making was a lot better too.

That running up the middle and then goal was where you could see a big difference from last year.
If it was last year he would have stopped dead turned and handballed it to a team mate under pressure. Instead he backed himself and kicked it.

I got bagged just a few weeks ago saying how he could be the answer to the small forward problem at the dockers. He seemed to be the only docker out there today besides Tarrant that had any self belief. Damn good to see from both of them!

Agreed

I thought he played well and deserves another game (Something I was against at the start of the season).

That said remains as big a fair weather players as Headland, when the chips are down...He is nowhere to be seen.

Good to see him finally carry the ball and take on players.

Peake decided he knows how to play. His kicks were hitting targets and his run looked alright against a decent side.

Im not sure that Peake did much more than kick 3 goals, but after a 60 point thrashing, it's easy to give him the highest votes.

Keep him in the forward, bring in another mid, and drop Murphy.

Finally got his shit sorted off the field, no longer hanging out with the Marsh and Wood boys who are some of the biggest ****wits around.

Got married has settled down and will perform well this year. :thumbsu:

Best game I can remember him playing since 06, really hope he can keep it up, kicked a cracking goal.

We have to remember he played very well against the Dogs last year, even grabbed a couple of Brownlow votes. That's not a slight on his performance, but they do play a kind of game that leaves a lot of space for him to run into.

That said, I was very happy with him.

Was very impressive, i have thought the whole way through he would have a big season and his start was no let down.

I love watching him play, hes so exciting when hes up and running. The boys is fit as hell and can run like the wind and for some reason his finishing skills in front of the sticks are great. Cant kikc around the field generally but his goal kicking is great.

Just needs to back himself. Compare him to Browne. Both found the ball in space going forward, yet one shat himself and the other gave it all he could.

The problem i see with Browne is that he tries to hard. He runs around flat out all the time and goes to ground to much, he always overcomits to the contest and screws things up.
