Then i rather see him go somewhere , why offer him base rate when GC can offer him more , like an insult to deboer to me. If you rate deboer as priddis type , he should not be paid lesser than market value.

I rate de Boer as potentially a Priddis type. The reality is that he hasn't made the best 22 for most of the year.
I'd like him to back himself to getting back in the firsts and establishing himself as that kind of player. And then get an extension.

Well he is a free agent , who would had thought cats will risk picking up menegola delist by both hawks and freo , just a discussion.if you are deboer will you go and tell everyone other afl team knocking on your door when playing wafl final series. If i am him will try to play as best as possible hoping for freo extension and check with player manager whether there is an interest from other afl team.

If freo come out with one year extension , and your player manager said there is offer from other afl team offer 2 . Then you are open to negotiation.

I prefer if we kept him but there is no point in stockpiling players even club favourites. He deserves to be playing AFL, if its not with Freo, then he is free to go to whichever club gives him a contract, including West Coast (yuck)...

There's something there for sure but not his best effort. Moves well in traffic but his disposal was not great today. He'll be better for the run.

Correct. I can't see how any AFL club would be interested in him. Can find the ball at WAFL level but not enough at AFL level, not overly clever and couldn't kick over a jam tin. Mengelola for all his faults, can at least kick over distance.

Balic was good. Really good at getting free in traffic, good pace and skills. There is a lot to work with there.

I found his stats surprising at half time. His skills weren't as good as most players. Was involved in some good play, but I thought Suban and Balic were both better overall than him despite his stats.

To be fair de Boer's form at WAFL level has been outstanding. I hadn't watched Peel live much this year, but I think most who are highly critical of him have watched him very rarely at all. His kicking efficiency and effectiveness with his kicking has definitely been outstanding in the two finals, as was his game against the Western Bulldogs. Today he looked a class above and he did something I haven't seen him do in his career in that he was able to burst from the centre and be super damaging with the ball in hand. I think he might of actually become a far more attacking and creative player without being noticed by most observes. In my view he has actually always been better than advertised at winning the football in contested situations, but this has not been noticed as he always sacrificed his attacking game for the good of the team. I think in a similar way to Menegola if an afl team played him in an attacking role he would be far more effective than most here seem to think.
