Don’t know about you guys but I did not enjoy the male ground host at Marvel yesterday yelling into his microphone for over 5 mins before the game.
Why was he yelling???

If the club genuinely thinks that adds something to the “gameday experience” then we’re in more trouble than we thought.

And seriously, the lameness of individually introducing players pre-game is cringeworthy. It adds ZERO. It works in the NBA. And that’s it. Not in the AFL where a guy is yelling 23 names out trying to make it “exciting”.

And then add the player goal songs…..

Talk about totally botching the experience.

You know what would’ve made the day great? NM winning!!!! Pretty simple.

But anyway…..

Gawd that MC and music was loud. Is this an AFL or North thing to have the volume up so loud that you cant hear the person next to you talking. Is the volume controlled by the DJ or someone else? Who do we complain to? North or AFL. IT"S TIME TO ACT!!!!! :mad:

ain't that the truth

Is this an AFL or North thing:mad:

Unfortunately it's more of a league-wide thing. And this guy has carved out a niche for himself as a game-day announcer for multiple clubs and the Big Bash too;

Yeah it was excessively loud. My mate and I were both in medallion and couldn’t hear each other talk, it removed you from being present. Fyi we are both mid 30s and didn’t like it at all.

I'm at the Demons/Eagles game. Don't ask why. There's about 15k here and it was the same. At quarter time they thought that the crowd playing musical statues would be fun. 'Match Day Experience' is loud and lame across the board. It's not a NMFC thing, well not entirely. It's a Marvel and AFL thing. And like most AFL things, it's shithouse.

Between the announcer and the music I find going to Marvel so overstimulating that I rarely go anymore (and bring earplugs when I do). Otherwise I just feel awful for the rest of the day, or the next day for a night game.

I want the time in between quarters and before the game to talk to my friends, or have a break from the cheering. Not only can I not hear them, I can’t even hear myself think!

Such a contrast to watching the women at Arden, sitting up on the hill, which is a genuine delight every time. I should try to catch a VFL game there sometime
