Nope.

Didier Drogba on the other hand, vastly underrated IMO

Totally agree embers Crouch and Rooney are the two most overrated player imo. Thats what the poms do best.

Please, don't even compare Crouch and Rooney.

International goalscoring record: Rooney 11 goals, 33 caps vs Crouch 11 goals, 14 caps. :D

On a serious note, I really don't believe Peter Crouch is underrated as such. I think he's still shaking off the derision of his goalscoring slump when he first joined us and there's this perception that he is over-achieving. Perhaps Rafa underrates him, as Crouch has done far more than Bellamy to deserve a spot in the starting XI, yet he seems to be third in line. Only time will tell if he continues to be as productive as he's been at the start of this season.

People are rating him very highly at the moment, but I think that he is alright striker that scores goals against rubbish international sides. I want to see him step up and score against the big teams of the world, then he will be a good player.

Think Rafa's starting Bellamy ahead of him base on the notion that he needs pace up front. Bellamy's the type of player who'll go on a streak and score 7 in 7 and go scoreless for the next ten matches, so he'll come good eventually. Don't think Crouchzinho's "third in line" since Rafa rotates his players anyway, it's just atm Kuyt's in such great form it's hard to drop him.

Not necessarily.

He's never been prolific because his finishing's always been mediocre and when he does endure a drought its usually everyone else's fault but his own - lack of service, managerial tactics, not fully fit, refs picking on him.

I said a few years ago that he'd be as good as Owen if only he had the finishing ability and professionalism to match his pace and positioning - creates enough chances to score a hatful.

But at what is he now, 26? 27? I doubt we'll see any improvement in technique at this stage.

Since moving to you lot he's already managed to almost spark a brawl in the tunnel with Terry Mac and he's made himself the most hated figure on Tyneside since Ruud Gullit.

Can't wait for the next installment of the inevitable hijinks to come.

Crouch is now starting to justify his pricetag (and a bit more), He does get a lot of cheap goals against rubbish opposition (for club and country) but you still pay decent money for that.

As for being under rated, I think he is probably under rated and over rated in equal measures. Personally I still see him as a limited footballer at the very top level.

I was thinking last night that it can't be too long before the next installment of the "I'm Craig Bellamy, I'm too good to be left out of the starting lineup or subbed" show.

Consider yourselves privileged to grow up in an era where you can fully appreciate the sublime talents of the greatest striker in world football. :thumbsu:

He hardly sparked the brawl, he didn't start it, but coz it's Craig Bellamy let's hang him before having a trial.

I don't like the **** either, but he wasn't the main reason for that tunnel brawl. And disappointed with Terry Mac's comments afterwards as well.

Bellamy was **** last season for Blackburn early on but went on a hot streak in the 2nd half. Never expected 20 goals a season from him, but I still expect 15 goals from all comps from him this season.

I'll refrain from commenting about his attitude and what I really think of him until he starts ****ing up big time...

Liverpool do play about 100 games in all comps on average so 15 goals in a season for a leading striker is actually quite modest.

They played about the maximum number of games last year that came to about 60 odd games. And a palyer would never play all games let alone start in all games. I'd like to know how you came up with a figure of 100 games.

ahh.... Liverpool fans gotta love em' :D

100 games was an exaggeration to get across my point, that 15 goals in all comps in a season wasn't actually that much,
and FWIW Bellamy has started most games so far this season so even with 100 games the guy might struggle to get 15 goals ;)
