De Rauch and Joseph's comments on this bloke intriuged me. Did some reading.

I stumbled across a bit of stuff, but didn't get past this bit:

"Once he has a vision, he's absolutely committed to it and never have I thought that the vision he's had on anything has been wrong," he said.

Now Scanlon has been well rewarded from his association with Corrigan and his vision.

At last count, Scanlon had some $338 million worth of shares, a stake he has held for some years.

The BRW Rich list estimates Mr. Scanlon's net worth at $70 million and interests ranging from helicopter leasing to wineries in France and Australia.

Anyone who leans left politically or anyone with an advanced ethical radar is best advised to dig no further than that or look into how this money was accumulated. Have read varied reports on his net wealth, also. $70 million seems conservative.

Between he and De Rauch, there should be some serious debt-reducing going on. Because if NorthBhoy was the billionare Caro claims De Rauch is, we would be playing out of a gold plated, completely indoor 70,000 capacity Arden Street stadium suspended 200 metres above the ground, and each supporter would be flown my helicopter to roof and dropped in SAS style into their seat. Good times.

Anyone know more about this Scanlon fella?

Gee, I had no idea he had serious money.
I have absolutely NO INTEREST what's so ever as to how he got it.

The question I want answered is how can we have supporters who are that rich while our debt is supposedly only 2mil?

C'mon Peter, you ARE the man we've been waiting for.

Welcome on board and lets win some premierships.

Just because people have money does not mean they are going to be good for the football club. From what i have been reading on here the last few weeks people have been talking and writing about Peter de Rauch, but from what is starting to come out about him it does not sound to good. We may need people with money but jsut because they have it does not mean they are going to just give it away. What we also need is good business minded people, that can help the club get through these bad times.

More than likely stock + stock options accumulated from his time as an Elders exec.

I don't give a rats how he got it - more interested in him turning our club around with the assistance of other high profile people.

I have supported this club for 24 years. Not once have we ever been on the front foot - we need to stop being ashamed of how poor we are do something about it.

bums on seats will help - but business clout will do just nicely also.

I love De Rauch. At least he stands up to be counted.

I'm reckon Scanlon knows a little bit about business.

I'm reckon Scanlon knows a little bit about business.

And also a bit about how to obtain large amounts of money. He seems to quite proficient in this area. This would be important.

Reckon he might have a few at AFL house a bit nervous too. I don't think Andy D would be bullying North around if Pete was pulling the strings.

I understand that he is good business minded. What i was trying to say is that people are not going to hand out charity to us.
Maybe thats why we need to play some games on the Gold Coast!

Peter de Rauch does have a proven history of helping the club out in the hard times.

I'm not 100% convinced of where he stands in the scheme of things but don't believe the agenda of a vocal few that are trying to make out that he hasn't been a huge asset to this club in the past.

Yep, he certainly has some upside.

I wonder if Scanlon coming on board is going to be dependant on Joseph getting elected ( I know Joseph approached him, but don't know if they have an existing personal relationship).

If Ron loves the club as much as he says he does, he should be pushing regardless of whether he makes the board.

I think that if Scanlon does get a look in the duffman could be in strife.

Didn't De Rauch liken Scanlon's projected arrival to that of Dick Pratt?

What I want to know is, we keep hearing all of this stuff about him, why hasn't someone shoved a microphone under his nose?

One of the Herald Sun reports said he didn't take or return their calls.

Chris Corrigans right hand man during the Patricks Wharf dispute, was the brains behind the attempt to break the Maritime Union Of Australia.

We do not need his money, we need his ability to do a McGuire and lift the profile and professionalism of the club to a new level so we can go from a struggling position to one where nobody would every question our ability to remain a Melbourne club.

Andy D would certainly be nervous, what with his office being at Docklands.

Roobunny having learnt well from her mentor, Anna Nicole. How did that story turn out?

Like most stories turn out.

Everyone dies and the lawyer walks away with the cash.

Jason, not ideal, but we can look past it. Surely?

Corrigan, Scanlon and Reith could save the footy club and I would lose a little bit of my soul. Not ideal, but I would cave.

Exactly 'PROFILE, PROFILE, AND MORE PROFILE'
