Pick 23 - Possibilities?

With that athleticism and good skills set, if Reynolds can be turned in to a half-back/wingman... DO WANT:hearts:.

If we can get him up and going as a tall winger ala Matthew Richardson style he could be a great player for us structurally.

Whilst I agree we need at least 1 KPP on our list I think our needs for outside pace and class disposal are greater.

Agreed, with tex and JJ coming back, add to that pods and the emergence of Kardigan I think we are well set up in terms of KPPs for this year when it is shallow. Id take a punt and hope Cameron, Nankervis etc are still there at 46 and use 23 to get some serious outside class.

Just a hard running midfielder will do. Cap going to be lowered to 80 for 2016, if you cant run all day, you cant play

Do you think any of Dwayne Wilson, Riley Knight or George Hewett will be available at Pick 46? Wouldn't mind taking Battersby at 23 and Wilson at 46.

Wilson the best of those ones, followed by Knight and then Hewett. Wilson has line breaking pace and can find the ball but the biggest question I have over him is how well he will translate gun Under 18 form to AFL form. He's not quite a Daniel Wells in class, he's more like Wilkinson that was delisted by Gold Coast....but of a much higher level and is more damaging.

Knight is a good little player, strong mark for his height and a genuine high possession ballwinner. Neat skills but not necessarily a damaging player. More a link in the chain and could well start as a pocket in the AFL. He could still be around come the rookie draft.

Hewett goes alright, nothing outstanding and probably needs to be more consistent but there is something to work with. I'd say he'd also be a fair rookie candidate.

Most of those guys would be around at 46 still. Lobb worries me as hes going to need a lot of time to develop, very skinny still. Nankervis and Cameron are both 95kgs+ and almsot ready made, with Nankervis being a year older also.

Lobb the most likely of the 3 to slide to 46. He's skinny but is a genuine mobile ruckman. Dean Cox was once skinner than Justin Westhoff and he was alright...Lobb just needs to hit the weights and he will really come on. He's a technician in the ruck, moves around the ground in a similar manner to Westhoff i.e very very mobile.

Nankervis the most solidly built of the 3, and is a powerful overhead mark and a very good tap. Quite mobile and works well around ground. I don't think he'll ever end up the star AFL ruck but he is very much like Tom Bellchambers in style and ability.

Cameron has quite a bit of raw talent, again mobile and a very good tap. Doesn't mind getting his hands and face dirty at times either. He'd have the highest development ceiling of the 3, can go forward or fill the hole well. Bit likea YOUNG Dean Brogan in the way he plays.

Do you think Wilson would be available at 46? He looks like a really nice player that could be nice on our HFF. And he's a lefty!

Im hoping we pick up a kid called Zac Bates (SA boy) first or second pick up to the crows. has speed and buys himself a time and space... his skills are good left footer. he looks a little like grigg, but if you watch his tape on afl site - draftee's for this draft and fast forward to 1.51minute mark of the tape you might think of Andrew McLeod as he streams through the middle dodging and fending off an opposition player then gives off a slick handpass to a player on the outside.... have a look at his tape

Welcome to BigFooty Zac

Someone listed him as a 'roughie' on the first page of this thread but I do like the look of Jonathon Marsh. WA lad - 192cm 85kg - listed as a 'tall forward' in the AFL draft guide. This kid has absolutely elite speed - topped the 20m sprint at the combine and came 3rd in repeat sprints. Knightmare has him going at #25 in his phantom draft.

Video footage of him looks promising - whenever he gets the ball he is looking to play on and run around his opponent - seems to back himself and knows he can evade just about everyone. Kicking action is a bit suspect but he seems to use the ball reasonably well.

Dunston/Dumont would be safer picks at 23 if they are still there but Marsh has a bit of X-factor and he has that elite speed that the Crows crave. Is the same height as David Mundy so he certainly has the attributes of a good outside mid in down the track.

Apparently Gold Coast and West Coast are keen on Dwayne Wilson and for good reason. Has elite disposal on both feet to the point where he has fooled some, including an underage state coach, into thinking he is left footed when he is right footed.

Christ..... Pick 23.... you almost need to inform the AFL you DON'T want a gun.

If we cant get a seriously good talent at 23 then these doyens need to give up.

Getting paid to watch footy, you would think its Christmas.

Lets go for someone that is seriously quick.

I really like Zac as well. Not sure in the ND though, but absolutely in the Rookie Draft.
Really silky smooth. As you said creates time and space for himself and has a damaging attacking mind set be it off Half Back or Half Forward.,

AFL website has a little write up about who might be around at 23

Adelaide
Pick 23: The Crows lost midfielder Bernie Vince to gain this pick, and might look to replace him with another midfielder. Tough, inside onballer Trent Dumont had a good season at senior level with Norwood in the SANFL, which was capped with an impressive showing in its Grand Final triumph.
Around the mark: Luke Dunstan, Michael Apeness, Patrick Cripps
