Pick 27

The Video says he's Daniel though:confused:
That's because he is. Dave downloaded the video from the AFL site and then misnamed it when uploading it to YouTube.

He also made the same mistake when posting it here.

Dean Rioli is the fat Rioli that played for Essendon and ran for parliament in Darwin.

I hope we can get DANIEL rioli with our first pick, moves just like his cousin

With the depth in our squad I think we can afford to take a punt on Rioli. The upside is huge.

Sorry for cutting half your post, but McKay isn't as relevant here.

Moore to Sydney if he gets to their first available pick after Mills. They were the club that got him back to the Cannons for his overage year.

Also thoughts on Tom Phillips? He's received a lot of interest after the GF, but ours has been by far the most significant!

Would Sydney take another forward? They've still got Franklin, Tippett and Reid. It's plausible given Franklin and Tippett at mid-late 20s I guess, but the urgency would I'd imagine be lowish.

On Phillips. I don't know how interested others are. He may be more of a rookie selection. But I've liked him a lot. Can play midfield (inside/outside) and at either end on a flank. Production strong, scoreboard impact strong. Ball use very good. Moves very well and has a nice sidestep to him. I like his game and I feel late/rookie draft is one who can surprise, having really stepped up as an overager this year.

Would take a risk on Sam Skinner. Young key position players take time to mature physically and him doing his knee would be a blessing as he is building his body up in the gym recently.

At 197cm and 93kg.

Seems a Good Size

What are your thoughts on Allen KM any good?

Productive and overall reasonable but unexciting key forward. Slightly short for a key forward. For me just lacks a point of difference. Pretty good mark on the lead. But otherwise he just does everything well, but nothing terrifically well which suggest he'll be more a state leaguer than AFL standard footballer.

Well outside of the 1st Round there not many good KPF's Left IF any at all

That's almost always the way.

I wouldn't be picking a key forward this year outside the first round unless I viewed them as a long term key defender perhaps.

Knightmare Phillips probably not in calculations at 27 (the AFL draft machine has him at 50-99) but he hits a lot of markers for a Hine selection and wouldn't be surprised if we went with him with our 2nd (close to 50).

His bio on the AFL site draft hub states that he would benefit from being in an elite program. Hine loves that statement. He used very similar words in relation to De Goey last year (also an Oakleigh Charger).

2 goals in the TAC GF and named in the bests also shows he can play on the big stage. An over ager too. More ticks on the Hine selection scale.

Alex Morgan (outside pace) at 1st pick and Phillips at 2nd pick would also be another two teammates recruited together.

I'll be taking an interest in Phillips from here.

Hope we can get Burton at 27then. Then Harwick and Johnson other 2 picks

Hine must not rate the Talls this Season as trading out of the 1st Round

[at 27 (the AFL draft machine has him at 50-and wouldn't be with him with our 2nd (close to 50).

Well analyzed - in my observation Hine places weight on exposed senior form, TAC Cup form, combine stats and maybe also takes into account interview factors. But the team mate thing is an interesting dimension as well. Most people scoff at this but if you look at our list we now have 3 sets of young team mates playing together in the side. Based on experience you'd say Phillips a chance but then I've never anticipated Hines first pick. Well once that was Sidebottom. Everyone guessed that one!

Phillips isn't someone who would require pick 27 to acquire. He'll probably be available in the rookie draft.

Phillips has the mix of attributes and production. So he is someone who feels very developable.

It will be interesting to see if Collingwood pick any of the Oakleigh boys. It was such an even team with no stars, but lots of pretty handy pieces.

Hine may not rate this draft or the talls in this draft. I don't on either front.

But Hine's liking or otherwise of this draft isn't overly relevant when we have the opportunity as we eventually capitalised on in adding Treloar, Howe and Aish all in the one trade period. Clubs should look to improve their best 22 every year in trades of this nature every year.

The bonus was we just did it in a shallow draft.

I can only really go on what I've heard re Moore, but my guess would be that they either see him down back long term or Franklin's issues run deeper than many suspect. It's also worth pointing out Tippett is 29 in 2016 and has never been overly durable so I can see why they'd need to go tall (Mills aside).

From what I've heard of Phillips he sounds a good solid selection late draft so it'll be interesting to see how it plays out.

.

Agree you don't pass up Treloar and Aish.

Hine has said before that he did not rate this Draft much anyway
