This young lad's got something highly worth persisting with. Clearly needs to build up his tank but his effort and work rate are there. Really hope the Club gives him plenty of opportunities at AFL level next year because that will fast track his development.

I'll be surprised if he doesn't play 150+ games at AFL level, probably being conservative on that number too.

He’s the perfect “type” to complement Georgiades longterm, even moreso given his rucking skills. Very natural forward-second ruck.

Now is the third tall forward role safe with Lukosius or Marshall?

If Jack can stand up and become the second banana after Georgiades, Lukosius becomes very dangerous as a third tall.

Jack L is a role player not a star player but he needs Jack W to come on and take the second best defender to prosper I think.

The thing I loved about his game last night was the defensive effort late. Helped Aliir v King and then pressured the handball that made it loopy so Jones could smash Max Andrew.

But at the time Whitlock has been in games where it's been challenging and not really the core side feeding it to him apart from Butters and Rozee. Good comparing with Darcy, we can only hope he reaches that level. Heck, ask North the question if they trade his brother over as the opposite end defender.

Nice to see him kick that left foot snap too. Dual sided is excellent. Shame he dropped the overhead mark on the lead. Otherwise lot of good signs.

Pretty rare for a KPF taken in the 30s to have played so well in their first season I recon.

I’m getting excited about his range - his ground ball take at speed was a thing of beauty and then his grab on the wing was at maximum vertical extension taking the ball at its highest point. Can also lead, snap a goal and chop out in the ruck.

Of course he'll get games before Lord, but if you've got all of Georgiades, Lukosius and Marshall fit, playing Whitlock becomes much more difficult, particularly in winter when the oval is much more slippery with dew etc.

Whitlock shows good skills he can take a mark and kick and is quite athletic. At 19 years of age and 200cm Jack is an exciting prospect. I am not sure how Marshall, Georgiades, Lukosious and Whitlock all fit into our forward line but that is for Carr & Co to work out. Feels good to be posting about Carr & Co. working things out.

I liked that he's already talking about putting on as much size as he can in the off-season (he's already eating 6 meals a day). He wants to be an AFL player.

Get a proper weight training team in and build up these kids.

Everyone remember the mark he took 1v1, he leaped over the gold coast player and took the mark at the highest possible point, looked impossible to spoil due to his wingspan and height.

Yep happened right in front of me, was great to see.

Got some genuine aerial talent and ability to deal with body contact in a marking contest. Could be a huge weapon for us if he continues to develop.
