Surely with those picks Carlton have to draft the best key position player available. Who are the KPP rated in this draft who be available between picks 30 and 50.

I wonder if the club are going to try to pull a couple from left field. Ive been racking my brain as to players that can last to the later rounds and still be quality.

Wondering what Gilly and co thought of the idea of spending a late pick on Tim Bongetti (sp?). I personally saw him play 3 games for Nth, kicked a bag in 2 of them. Could be worth the risk?

Bongo lacks the speed, agility and change of direction for AFL.

SOme KPP's that might be around at that stage

Scott Simpson (I imagine will go higher though)
Dan McKenna
Tony Notte

Gawd, I am trying to think and all my mind comes up with is Judd :o. I'm struggling to come up with names...TGR, HBF, anybody??

I would like us to make sure we get 1 solid role-player who is a guaranteed AFL player. Preferably a small forward.

I'm thinking someone along the lines of Alwyn Davey last year - a player who drops because their upside is limited, but who you know will be able to step in and contribute as an AFL player in a limited role. Tagger, small-forward, maybe even a limited defender (in the Carroll mould).

I reckon we also need to get a second-rounder and take a midfielder there. The only way to be competitive is to keep topping up your midfield, and you ahve to get mids early as they're all gone by round 3 of the draft. Or, take Cotchin with pick 1.

Then 46 and 62 should be KP players. But the best outcome I can think of would see us get:
1. Kreuzer
20-25. Midfielder
36. Small forward, guaranteed contributor
46. KP gamble
62. KP gamble

how do we get this 20 - 25 pick? Russell? or Who else?

Im glad everyone is on the same page as me, that we should take a gamble on KPP's with our remaining picks.:thumbsu:

We just might pull a westhoff out of left field

Tarrant will be gone I'd think, Luke Sampey should still be there, but I'd just go best available in that area - there wont be much choice. Jake Edwards and Adam Hartlett need to get their bodies right and put their collective best foot forward

There must be a way of finding a loophole, as Essendon did with Hird and draft Hurley this year:thumbsu::D

So what the last guy you got into wasn't young enough, so you're going to go for an 18 year old now? :D :p

He was hot and heaps better than the boy that wanted you on Saturday night! ;)

HBF will be extremely conflicted at this moment in time.....we have JUDD but his phantom draft lies in shatters :D:p

Still happy to have selections 36 and 46 in the PD. We'll just have to see who falls through the cracks. I've got my eyes on a few players at this stage, but they'll have to remain a mystery until it's up and running. Sorry.
