Fast for a big man too, you get a bit of rebound with the intercept marking

Kicking the ball so it hangs in the air and causes the turnover from spoil or intercept essentially has the same effect of missing the target....lol

its a flaw in his game...

The short answer is Naughton and Naughton only as a KP but also Fogarty who can play tall but is more of a 3rd tall.

I've heard that the main reason the Pies were adamant about keeping Pick 6 is that we felt that there was a clear top 6 and then a drop off. We want one of those top 6. The Stephenson heart issue has thrown that out, as he was viewed as one of the top 6.The Pies now feel there is a clear top 5 and that they may end up with someone they rank lower.

That's disappointing. In hindsight we would have been better to trade out 6 to Richmond or Brisbane for their two later first round picks.

Could have had a combo of 2 good players (best available and then a needs pick) now we have to settle for one we don't rate that highly.

I suppose at the end of the day even if our top 5 list get read out 1 to 5 on draft night we just take the 6th name on our list.

Would help us greatly if Fogarty or Stephenson still go top 5; we may still get our guy.

From the story in the Hun on the weekend it seems the first graft failed 3-4 games into resuming footy. Swapped from a hamstring tendon done by a local surgeon to a patella tendon done by 1 of the gurus 2nd time around.

And there's also a reason you only cited one instance of it, every single kid in that game would have missed targets, big deal, he shows he hits them often enough for the rest to be worked on... no use talking the kid down when there's every chance we'll end up with him, he's fast, strong and intercepts like a monster... and while there might be a bit of the Alan Toovey's about him that didn't stop Poss from hanging a premiership medal around his neck

If we go small we’ll get questioned over why we didn’t address our KPP issues and if someone from the nominal top 5 slips and we overlooked them for a tall we’ll be pilloried for letting them through. Doubly so if the KPP doesn’t kick on and the mid does.

I've been thinking this exact same thing. Would be nice if a worthy KPP was available at 6 and we just took that option, but I'm not sure there is. From my limited knowledge anyway. I think I'd rather just take the best available and hope they turn out decent. In that scenario I don't think we can be criticised too much.

Not sure there's lots of hang time.
He might be a nice one for us.

He and McLarty lock up defence longer term, Moore goes forward after a nice stint down back this season
