IN:

Yagmoor
Elliot
Clarke
Pick 50
Pick 67

Out:

Pick 25
Pick 45

Well we Brought Clarke back and he could play From RD 1.

Got 2 Kids in Elliot and Yagmoor.

Elliot looks like he be a Small Forward who Can Crumb the Ball and Can also take a Good Contested Mark.

Yagmoor is a Aborginal Kid who Can play HBF and on the Wing.

Both Kids have Potential and can be very good players.

Traded for Kids I think because they be on Min Wage.

Pies trade week and rumour thread review

OK...so you have to admit the rumour thread was fun.

We started out with Beams and Goldsack.

Neon was headed West.

Toovey was hung out to dry closely followed by Caff.

JMac was gone for all money.

Dick retired. BennyJ retired. Jolly retired ( how could he even walk with that degenerative knee? )

So we picked up Marty Clark, Elliot, Yagmoor plus swapped some picks AND no player left the club!

We have Witts, Mooney and Hartley to come.

We had a f@#k wit players representative? with a throw away "we must delist a player" line and soon salary cap pressures are running rampant. Eddie jumps in as he should and says things are tight. Great opportunity for the club to squeeze a couple of required contracts. Well played Pies.

In Hine we trust!

Did I miss anything?

Yags doesn't mind a tackle :p

I'm pretty happy overall, there wasn't any massive movements and us getting back Clarke is a good think despite what a lot of people think. With such a shallow draft, for us to get Clarke and Elliott for pick 25 is great I think, and then for us to get Yagmoor at the expense of only 3 positions in the draft is another coup I think.

It will be interesting to see who gets delisted, with the types that we've picked up you might think Dicky might be retiring, or get rookied. Also is interesting to note that we didn't really target any Leigh Brownesque utilities so maybe we'll be seeing Cam Wood come in to try and fill that role, I'd really like to see how that'd pan out.

just watching the Clarke highlights, forgot how good Clarke is at his best..

Big pre season from Clarke, including the arizona trip and definately will be in our starting 22..

Hopefully develop some forward line attributes and would make a good sub early on..

You could say we pretty Much Drafted Elliot and Yagmoor,

They both have a Full Pre-Season instead of Half a One and Both can go to Arizona

A bit disappointed intially that we wont enter the draft until so late again (50) but the more I think about it the more I think Hine has worked the system to our benefit.

I think that he would have potentially liked Elliot or Yag with picks between 25 and 50 and at least by getting them on the list now (through pre list trades) we can circumvent the possibility or another team cutting our lunch on these two if we had have waited for draft day. We also get Marty who is proven at the top level and will be there and abouts come Rnd 1.

No he can sit back and wait to the next "Fas" to slide right on through!

Think you might be on to something TD! Great point... if we trade for kids during trade period they have every opportunity to get fit and have a great first year of VFL and have more chance of getting games in the afl!

Oh, and Goldsack with a full, sickness free pre-season will be stiff not to be a regular in the seniors next year

Out of interest, roughly where would Elliot & Yagmoor have gone in this years draft?

i would have had yagmoor around 50 or so but stuff all splits 40 to 100 this year so suspect different clubs will have different views. i am really pleased we got him. elliott i think would have been a later pick but look his best footy is full of x factor and he creates a contest and chases which I think we missed this year so suspect he is their to fill a role in their list. of all the small fwds running around that were 19 or above he is right up there.

1 and 2.

also, said on TWR that Leon was not a sure thing for us, his manager reckons Leon hasn't decided yet. :(

Yeah Pickering also said there was a chance he might be traded today.:p:eek:

Leon will be at Collingwood next year, nothing is surer.:)

If the draft was as normal without zones and preselections pick 45 (2nd round selection) would be around where we would get Yagmoor. Elliot could have gone in the 50s, but maybe available 3rd round.

Hine basically speaks about how we have deliberately used the pre listings and scholarship systems to top up out list in a very compromised draft period.

Hine also says we will have 2 selections in both drafts (National and Rookie) which will account to 8 new players into the club (including Hartley and Mooney who are rookies).

The Messiah has spoken.

In Hine we trust.

Including debutants from this year, that's a lot of names thrown up as potential senior gamers next year. LOL.

I think we might see at least a couple of shocks on the delistings.

Bucks and Hine have attacked this process with Gusto...10 player turn over including rookies. New assistants. More development coaches to compliment our new players and Bucks game plans. We kept the core strength Bucks - Buttifant - Hine and co. We gained Eade as an experienced campaigner who has a history of working with developing talent.

Hine basically intimates that our draft might be project players since the list is complete.

All we have to deal with next year is the big salary cap question with a few players including Pendles out of contract and free agency. However, we won't be the only club dealing with that problem.

Who's getting excited???

loved jonno at the end...

"As the collingwood army says, In Hine We Trust"

hahaha, gold

Also. someone needs to splice TDs commentary over the top of Hines answers :p
