Re: Stoppages

The major weapon the Pies have over the Saints is that we are quicker..

We need to play on and run at all costs..

also stops the Saints from setting up their wall behind the ball..

Re: Collingwood will play Simon Prestigiacomo to tag Simon Fisher this week.

Not a troll. Just trying to get a game plan to break down St kilda's set up behind the ball.

Re: Collingwood will play Simon Prestigiacomo to tag Simon Fisher this week.

Good idea, what better time to trial our best fullback as a defensive forward than a Grand Final.

Lol.

Well I've heard enough. I'm loading up early on Presti for most goals.

Re: Collingwood will play Simon Prestigiacomo to tag Simon Fisher this week.

We saw what a blanket hold that Harrison Ford put on Carrie Fisher in Star Wars.

Presti can do the same thing to her brother.

My mail from the club is that Jolly is going to tag Baker. You can guarantee that they are considering every possible scenario, and that is one they are definitely considering. Would definitely do him for height.

Re: Collingwood will play Simon Prestigiacomo to tag Simon Fisher this week.

As long as the Pies don't do something like this with Fisher.

Are We Brave Enough?

Nicks ... captains set to rumble.

For the Pies to win, they must run all day. In finals, you cannot afford to tighten up when momentum swings to St Kilda - as they did in the third term. Run harder, provide more options and take responsibility when in possesion of the ball. Too often, they bombed the ball inside 50 instead of doing what they'de done all year. With run-and-carry getting closer to the 50m mark before entering, thus availing shorter use, more options and ensuring those targets are all one-on-one, Sam Fisher wont be able to intercept mark at will as he did last week. Collingwood must be brave enough to win this flag, as the Saints don't gift anything to anyone.

Stick with the Pies by 24 points. (If they are brave enough?)

Interesting article by David King who has been a huge Collingwood advocate all year but is wavering a bit.

Saying we need to be brave enough to win.

Not physically brave.

But brave enough in our belief.

When we got infront there was a huge element of that last week.

Infact we played our bravest footy once we finally fell behind after Goddard's huge hanger and goal.

The players need to believe enough in themselves to be brave.

They have to play like they are losing, even when they are winning.

Re: Stoppages

The way the Saints play the third man up in ruck contests is the difference at stoppages.

Either get Pendles and Maxwell to do exactly the same, turning the ruck contest into a 50/50 with 2 on 2 or cut out the opportunity for the saints to play the 3rd man up.

Did anyone else notice that the Saints players were getting away with doing what harry got crucified in the press for doing when a player plays on after taking a mark or free kick?

Re: Are We Brave Enough?

I don't doubt the mental toughnes of alot of our players. Sidey, Thomas, Pendles and co are made for the big stuff. I expect Harry'O Swan and Shaw to do alot better on Saturday as will Didak.

Time will tell, I also have my doubts on the thread maker. Sorry but I think I wouldn't be the only one, your posts err on the side of pissing everyone off including me...

Re: Stoppages

Everyone said the umpires had a great game but the rules were throw out the window and it favoured St Kilda.

Spot on, Paddy. PTIN has embarked on a crude if systematic effort to sap the confidence of Pies supporters. It's a kind of public wank-fest with pics.

Be interesting to see what the tosser comes up with next.

Re: Are We Brave Enough?

I agree Snag Break, I say ban him NOW... All Pies supporterts I know a more confident by the day...

Pies on the rebound and under pressure from the media is something not to be messed with. Lock thread and a ban...

Re: Are We Brave Enough?

Ridiculous. It is an article by David King on foxsports. Not my comments at all. The Question is raised by him.

I want the Pies to BE BRAVE more than anything.

Re: Are We Brave Enough?

This may become an issue if we find ourselves in front and controlling the game again this week.

We must be brave enough to put St Kilda away.

Shaw IMO was outstanding on Saturday and one of few who really stood up.

Heater was one of the main reasons we drew and didnt get beaten come the 2nd half.

Re: Are We Brave Enough?

Leave it be.

I agree that we need to be more confident in ourselves.
