From what it "says" we Melbourne and north are interested, if north get Nicky dal don't think they would chase him, especially if they give there second Round pick up for him, so that effectively leaves us and Melbourne. I know who I'd chose, didn't watch much of him this year. Anyone know if he's anygood? If it was a straight swap for gumby I'd do it but I can't see him going to adelaide to play. I'd rather move back home to WA if I were him

Wouldn't touch him, has been average at best since winning Adelaide's best and fairest in 2009 (his form levels have dropped off significantly since then) he is highly over-rated in my opinion. Let Melbourne have him.

Thanks for the up date :) least I know he's a bit of a spud in your words

Speaking of Bernie Vince...

Here is my take

Trade in - Trade out

Essendon: Vince - Crameri
Bulldogs: Crameri - Pick #22
Adelaide: Polec - Vince
Brisbane: Pick #22 - Polec

Polec wants to go to Adelaide
Crameri wants to go to the Dogs
Vince wants to return to Melbourne, Craig and Goodwin could be a factor
Bulldogs only have pick #22

Just my predictions, everone would be fairly happy. would you guys accept such a deal?

You posted weeks ago that Gumby would leave the club - the inference was that he wasn;t offered a new contract.

And he couldn't be silly two years in a row !

You inferred wrong.

Looks like if the Port's Polec deal falls through, We might throw pick 30 at you for Gumbleton. (which is better than Freo's offer of 33)
Personally I think he could be that guy that helps spur on Butcher to compete (So he would be fighting for his spot instead of being given gold tickets)
And of course Essendon get higher in the draft order.

It'll probably be left up to Gumby.
He may want to go home to WA.

Would definitely take pick 30 for Gumbleton. If you guys could get him right, he will be more than handy in your forward-line. Problem with Scott is that he isn't that strong in the core (because of his injury problems) so he'll get man-handled very easily. Would definitely help him if he cops the second defender, as he has played his best games for us when Hurley and Crameri have been firing and the attention of the opposition has been on them. Would definitely help him playing alongside a gun like Schulz!

Would be a much better fit for you than Polec. Your midfield is going to be sensational anyway.

Yeah we picked up Matt White from Richmond and he is essentially a backup plan to Polec. White won the most improved award at the tigers this season.

That's what I'm afraid of. I'd imagine he'd rather play for a top team in his home state and possibly win a flag instead of going to a team that will be around the mark for a top 8 spot.

From the way Ken was talking when the White deal first broke, I have no doubt he'll be a tagger. Once Wingard moves in there full time, you add a couple of years into Wines and probably pick up another 2-3 prospects in the draft, it'll be a scary team. Burgess working with Gumby's talent will be a frightening thing to see. Prepare yourselves for forward 50 tackles, big dukes and an incredible, midfielder-esque engine if you get him.

I know it isn't strictly his job description but it would have been interesting to see Craig work with him. Regardless of what position he has held at the club, Adelaide football players have been animals for the last 15-17 years and Craig has been there the whole time (originally in strength and conditioning/sports science).

I'd imagine Cassisi would retire next year so White could take his spot and when he isn't tagging someone (Due to Moore and Cornes also being taggers) he can be put on the wing/half fwd due to his great speed.

Also Crows will more than likely send Vince to Melbourne for pick 20 and the crows would on trade that pick to Brisbane for Polec. (Which I think is overs)
So by the sounds of it both Port and Essendon supports would be more than happy to do the pick 30 for Gumby trade. All it comes down to as Loonerty said is if he wants to go to SA over his home state or if that's not a factor then maybe Freo might throw a spanner in the works and offer something extra perhaps.

I agree, I think your pick #30 would be fair for Gumbleton but it may take a little something to convince Gumbleton to come over to SA think it would be a good fit for PA and would enjoy seeing him having a game for one of my least hated AFL footy teams(don't get me wrong I still hate y'all, just not as much as the filth)

I'll see your Cameron Wood and raise you a Ben Brown.

Would then give us cover in two positions (fwd/ruck), still be young enough (22 years old) whilst still having enough upside and development left in him.

Being a Tasmanian, I've been hoping someone would recruit Ben for quite a while. From memory, I think he did his knee in his draft year and every club consequently passed on him. I didn't see him play this year, but I've always been impressed with his mobility and he's very clean and agile at ground level. He can pinch hit in the ruck and he'd be a valuable option up forward if we do indeed lose Crameri and Gumbleton in the one off-season.

Mitch Thorp played a blinder of a state league season for South Launceston also, but the quality of the competition is two or three steps below that of AFL. He'll get a second opportunity no doubt but it'll be interesting to see where he lands in the draft.
