Watched the start of the Hawthorn game last night. Before the game started it cut to the crowd to show Cyril Rioli up in the stands. Who should be sitting next to him but Jake Long!!

It got me thinking that Rioli is just what we need in our forward line.

What could we trade for him?

Out of interest.

Is everyone aware that we potentially could already have Cyril Rioli?

Yep, that's right. Instead of picking Myers we could have picked Rioli!

GWS is probably the best target. I can tell you an old cricket mate of mine (Carlton supporter) is Toby Green's nephew and he's a pretty keen bomber supporter!!

Fish, I had the impression from your brilliant posts that you were older than Toby Greene (note spelling)19/20yrs, if true it should be safe to assume that your old mate (the scum supporter, you should be ashamed) is around the same age as your good self, thus if the above facts are true it makes it difficult for me to believe that your old mate the scum supporter could be in fact Toby's nephew.

Also if I were one to nitpick (thankfully I am not) I would ask the question of how your old mate the (scum supporter), could also be a keen bomber supporter.

So if you and your old mate the (scum supporter) are in fact younger than Toby Greene and that your old mate the (scum supporter) is in fact Toby's nephew then all I can say is:

I played cricket with Toby and said uncle is my current cricket captain. I'm telling you right now Toby loves it in Sydney, the Giants love him and think he's a future leader at the club. He won't be leaving

as far as gws first rounders go, hoskin elliott or tyson would be much more attainable than greene. toby has established himself, the other two havent for various reasons.

add josh scipione to the small forward pile, knows where the goals are, very polished player

I haven't heard much on Jyden but i'm sure we will hear a lot more now.

Anyone seen enough of him to predict which pick we would have to use on him if we wanted to f/s him.

eleven clubs failed to select Rioli.

Rioli is hardly a failure as a first round selection.

And Myers is tracking OK>

Would be a very late national draft pick but more than likely a rookie selection.

Seems a little one dimensional as a forward despite his contested marking and goal kicking a standout.

There was a good article on the AFL website couple of weeks ago on all of Essendon's father/son possibilities in the future (no mention of Scholarship holder Jedd Clothier however).
