After seeing Pears on The Hangar, I doubt he will leave.

Do we have a list of small forwards out of contract? Betts is one that comes to mind, not sure if he has re-signed though.

I think people are ignorant in not wanting any Richmond, carlton, north, Collingwood players. If its gonna be a benefit for the side then please get any player.

I highly doubt betts would leave carlton what for? similar chance of success maybe slightly higher id say hed get much more money at the blues aswell esp with judddy moving on soon.

If we lost TBC. West, Dawson Simpson, Currie would be the players at the top of my list most likely looking for better opportunities all of which can lead a team in the ruck at AFL level and as backup and maybe play a fair bit aswell id think they be coming to much better opportunity. Petrie, Black, Daw, Goldy all ahead of currie.

HMac ahead of those big cats, vardy probably most preferred 2nd ruck at geelong with blicavs as West/Simpson are more main rucks.

I agree, however there are not a lot of really good options out there that we could afford to chase. I'd much rather have Pears in the team as backup for Fletch than a player the pies or Carlton are happy to let go. We are nearing our peak with really good depth in our list, there is no need to bring in a player who wants to leave Richmond because they can't get a game. We aught to be chasing promising kids who are homesick or something, or mature players who want a crack at a flag.

I have a lot of faith in our ability to develop players with the new coaching team and I'd much rather we trade for more picks than players.

Agree I never said there are specific players we should or shouldn't chase from those clubs. We cant afford a Dasiy Thomas through FA. We cant afford Martin, unless we trade for him.

I think we are bound for great glory and we are timeing it superbly this year wont be our year to much going on and still additions like Goddard, Baguley and new positions to Carlisle, Hurley and players who can still get even better IMO.

We don't really need much else right now to win a flag with this side we have. Just experience in finals and to make the top 4/2 a few years in a row to win one. 2014 is our year no questions, Fletchers last year, Watson still at the peak of his powers with Stants maybe a year of footy improves Winderlich to his best footy.

Im just saying if we lose TBC we should be open to players, in fact add Warnock/Hampson to that Simpson, Currie, West mix as backups that we could offer more opportunity I don't think anyone should be against that or a Eddie Betts, Yarran type (we can only afford if we lose someone like Cram, Tbc). Is betts FA?

I hope that on the breath of success guys like Crameri, TBC stay around and Pears (who I have more confidence in) we should really not play JoeD for too much more this year unless against real weak oppo play TBC to keep him around for 2014 and along with that a 2015 2 year contract. Hopefully the upbringing on Crameri at Essendon keeps him around along with success on the step. Im most worried about TBC because hes getting lucrative deals, he seems like a bloke thatd love a bit of coin ect and hes also fringe best 22 ATM.

We will probably wait for that 2014 FA talent pool to enhance our 2015 chances.

We need some X factor and a small forward maybe they come with one player or 2. Dayle Garlett suits beautifully id be prepared to go early on him just to suit a need, if hes fixed whatever the reason was for us not touching him in the draft last year (we all know). We also need a further of injection class to our outside midfield/half forward stocks I think Merrett/Kavanagh development can probably be the piece in that puzzle for us.

Even a risk on Jurrah id be all for

Just on Geelong, I reckon Blicavs has gone past Vardy this season

Cam mooney said on radio the other day, that Vardy is a 'superstar' and there is no way the cats will be trading him....

I agree the steeplechaser has gone past Vardy.

Essendon FC (Official Facebook Page):

"He is an excellent ruckman, an excellent person around our club and we want to sign him up and are very keen to get that done as soon as we can."

The coach spoke yesterday about the club's intent on promptly re-signing two of our out-of-contract stars.

Sounds like we are heading in the right direction to me! :thumbsu:

have mentioned Scipione before in this thread, but he's a class act. Port are only playing the Gold, but he's really clever, always moving (and moving to good spots) and a really good set shot for goal.

Frankly, very similar to someone else on our list...hint hint, he licks windows.

People mustn't of watched Carlton last night but Bryce Gibbs directly 'squibbed' half a dozen contests that I saw him involved in (no joke!!) where he "had to go when it was his time to go".

Do not want.. ill happily play Leroy Jetta ahead of trading in Bryce Squibs!

Him along with about 10 team mates. Ridiculous amount of times Carlton players didn't attack the ball, instead tried to take it and avoid contact. So soft.

I've been all over 'Skippy' this year.. Love his output this year and his cross game between attack and defence. Can play in a pocket but would be a welcome half forward/midfielder in any line up.

Just worth noting there aren't a great deal of 'ready made ruck men' in the state leagues this year (hence the idea of trading TBC is rubbish). If it were to come to getting someone, would it be better getting a guy like Callum Sinclair (west coast eagles) who can play as a forward or a ruckmen to an ok level offsetting the potential loss of multiple KPP's (before you say anything, I wouldn't be trading TBC, Gumby I would look at offers for).

Just reckon guys like Max Gawn, Daniel Currie, Jesse White wouldn't be looking to come to Essendon and play as depth like they currently are.
