hey guys who would you pick out of..

van berlo/brennan/ boak

All three are good options, but if you're going to pick Brennan, then select him in your forwards.

If someone can average 85+ in the forwards, that is a keeper and midfield you would hope for around 95+. Hence when selecting dual position players it is best to select them in a position other than Midfield.

Depends on need for swan. With swan, what you see is what you get - averaged 100-102 three years in a row. Do you need the captain option or do you have cox/deledio as backup too?

Ye the only reason i ask though is beause i have heard he has had an interupted preseason? i heard that he had surgery at the end of the season ? but judging from the pre season game, i think he had 30 possies? i know its only 1 game but he still looked pretty comfortable leading the midfield at collingwood. Im only worrried about picking him if his durability is in question if he has had an interupted pre season....

I suspect both will improve their scores a bit in 09. Vince is cheaper and that extra 10k ATM is helping me get Adcock instead of Malceski which i prefer. Unsure about Griffen and Vince reaching keeper status but i believe they could as a 6th mid. Vince has a greater engine and could well be the crows 2nd or 3rd best midfield meaning more reliance on him. He also gets plenty of marks and kicks. As does Griffen who is more of an impact player spending plenty of time on the bench.

08 (TOG) Griffen avg 73%
08 (TOG) Vince avg 72%

So i see plenty of improvment from both

Griffen + Malceski vs Adcock + Vince ??

08 (TOG) Griffen avg 73%
08 (TOG) Vince avg 72%

It all depends on if you can see each player increasing their TOG, Griffen seems to be as you said an impact player. Until he can become an impact player like Swan, I'm not sure he will get much more TOG.

Vince, if he was a forward, lock him away and be happy. He is a Mid only, so not sure about his selection. Certain players will increase their TOG in Adelaide, who will be that person? Reilly, Mackay, Vince, Van Berlo, Knights, Symes.... There is a long list of players, so it is hard to tell.

Hey guys who would you pick out of Myers and R.Houlihan?
I would probably pick Ryan basically because I have the guts and a feeling he will stay injury free, and if thats true he should score in the 90's week in, week out.
But keep in mind, Myers has alot of room to improve in and Bombers rate him high so he shouldnt get dropped. I had Myers in my team until I upgraded him to Adcock.

this is a huge question to help my team. It is very important.

hodge + gibbs

or

enright + kornes/Cross

or

h.shaw + swan

or

Lockyer + swan

Work something at for youself. Research each player mentioned and look at TOGS and where you think they will play for their sides. Its your team not bigfootys.

Also regarding Houlihan people are getting a little carried away with him saying he can avg 80,85,90. I think that maybe if he plays 4 good games and than is out for the year could happen. But if he is too play a solid part of the year i cant see him avg more than 75 IMO.

Shaw and Swan for me.

I'm not sure why you picked on this post in particular DWD, but half the posts in this thread are no more or less researched than that one.

Rich v Hill is one I am stuck on as my 6th mid.

I know people will say put Hill in the backlines, but I am very happy with how my back line has panned out without him, and don't really want to have that much money sitting in the backline reserves. I've also got 2 rookies back there that I am fairly confident of getting a game early in the piece.

Rich - Big bodied, should be thrown lots of games quickly, not massive scoring potential.

Hill - Slight frame meaning could be injured, should also get games, more scoring potential than Rich.

Leaning towards Hill at the moment but keep going back to Rich..

hey how about swan or kane cornes? i'm leaning towards swan, but need some reasons to justify not getting the other scoring machine that is cornes...any suggestions would help...

This is about swan just so you know...

IIRC, he had some light surgery on his wrist early in the off season (like october or november) which just restricted his ballwork for a bit (could still run/ride). Im pretty sure he's looked great since christmas from all the reports ive read - carved up in NAB cup round one too so all looks well.

Really, they are both so consistent and will average 100 or thereabouts. So you can't go wrong with either. That said, i slightly lean towards Kornes due to being a few bucks cheaper and the man just does not get injured.

I would personally go Swan - he doesnt get tagged too often, and his big games are huge. Kornes on the other hand is his teams best tagger, and will (on occasion) be asked to sacrifice his game for a shut-down job.
