Snoop Dog doesn't seem to be around so I thought I'd take up the task

Didak- Thought he managed to work his way into the game pretty well. Smith kept him quiet early but Dids got better as the game went on. A couple of uncharacteristic turnovers by foot but overall, given Didak's record with taggers, you'd take 24 disposals and a goal every time.

Toovey- Good game from the Toov, even showed a bit of composure with the ball.

Johnson- Played his link up role well last night although not as damaging as earlier in the year.

Reid- Very good game. While he didn't get as much of the ball as last week he was excellent defensively, gave White a bath. Took some good marks going back with the flight as well.

Dick- Did his shoulder unfortunately, looked lively otherwise. There were two occasions when he should've just kicked the goal though, instead of looking to give it off.

Dawes- Good early then trailed off a bit. He's starting to use his size a bit more to outbody defenders and get front position. He made in effort to make the ball in his hands last night, which was a good sign.

Thomas- We've come to expect this from Thomas every week and he keeps delivering. Playing the wingmans role excpetionally, plenty of run and link up work.

Swan- Another good game from Swanny. Didn't seem to play as much midfield last night but showed his versatility by going to a hbf and still racking up the stats.

Jolly- His best game for us. His ruckwork was good, you could tell he had it all over Pyke and probably broke even with Mumford. Looked dangerous up forward as well.

Beams- Watching the game I thought he was quiet but just checked and he had 23 disposals, a solid game.

Shaw- Wallsy had him BOG but those two slipups prevented him getting BOG in my eyes. From memory made one or two other dumb mistakes as well. I'm probably being too harsh as overall he was good and certainly much better than the last two weeks.

O'Brien- Outstanding first quarter, that goal...wow. Was a bit loose on O'Keefe at times, who kicked 3. Provided great run from the backline all night.

Brown- Shocking early but got better as the game went on. He uses his bulk and thats why he's in the team.

Davis- Had a shocker. Enough said.

Ball- Very good. 9 tackles and 9 clearances, doing exactly what he's supposed to be doing.

Pendlebury- Good all night. Not as prolific as other weeks but showed his class and composure whenever he got the ball.

Wellingham- Didn't notice him all that much. His defesnive side often gets questioned but I noticed I couple of really good defensive efforts last night.

Prestigiacomo- Smashed Goodes whenever he was in the forward 50, gave him absolutely nothing.

Sidebottom- Very good. He reads the ball so well off the packs and his goal sense is uncanny. You'd love two Steele's, one up forward for his crumbing and goal sense and one in the midfield where he can utilise his excellent field kciking.

Lockyer- Very quiet game last night.

Cloke- A typical Cloke game. Good early, a couple of goals, works hard all night and a sprayed set shot. Pretty handy but I'd like to think Cloke can lift his 'typical' game by another 20%.

Goldsack- Quiet but did his job. His strengths are his tackling and spoiling(when he gets a run at it) and showed that a couple of times last night. I want him in the side but he's probably the logical omission for Maxwell.

good writeup Heater. personally i think you under-sold Dawesy a little bit. our side looks SO much better with him in the fwd line and overall he had a great game taking a few strong contested marks and slotting some difficult goals.

Shaw was great but he generally is when allowed to play loose. hopefully can start getting more of it when getting paid closer attention.

Well done Heater, excellent.

Really liked Jolly/Brown combo, best our rucks have been this year.

Dawes definitely helps forward line structure.

All backs were good, Harry and Toovs' form was particularly encouraging. And Reid starting to look like he believes he belongs.

Wellingham also looked on his way back last night.

.

Wellingham also looked on his way back last night.

Yeah, he stuffed up a few times in difficult conditions but I thought me moved better and showed signs of good form returning.

thx heater - was out there last night and woke up with a sore head. really good review to. what was really noticeable was we just one all the contests and never let them get any momentum.

massive tick for tooves who i thought was really good early, prsesti who did a super job on goodes and also to pendles and dawes.

Yeah, I was waiting for Snoop to make this thread last night, you're usually like clockwork mate. :thumbsu:

Anyway, my votes:

3: Swanny
2. Jolly
1. Presti

Special mention to Luke Ball who was at his bullocking best against a team that prides itself on winning the contested ball.

What really struck me last night was how even we were all over the ground, I can't think of a player who was bad, Leon wass not his usual self but kept pressuring and harrassing all night. Can't think of a player who didn't perform.

Swan - fantastic performance and his disposal, having suffered a little bit in recent weeks was absolutely top notch, some of his kicking was magnificent. If he'd finished off those shots on goals it would have been a performance to savour.

Shaw - Found a lot of the ball and was great on the rebound. Unfortunately was responsible for a few costly blunders, but overall did more good than bad.

Didak - Decent game from Dids, had a few uncharacteristic turnovers early in the game but his skills running down the wings were great and his goal was vintage Didak.

Daisy - This bloke has become Mr Consistent, does the hard yards and is always looking to do the team thing. Just struggles a bit with set shots, of which he had a few last night.

Beams - Pretty good game come to think of it, strangely enough he seemed to just blend into the team and did some good work without being too flashy.

Pendlebury - He's still being played a little bit out of position, but when he got the ball in close his deft touch was amazing. He's still effective wherever he plays and last night was no exception.

Johnson - Can't say I really noticed him all that much, which is strange because he found a bit of the ball according to the stats sheet.

Ball - Awesome inside game, heaps of contested ball, heaps of clearances, plenty of tackles. The break seemed to do him a world of good because he looked revitalised and his kicking had a bit of penetration to it as well.

Wellingham - Good signs from Wellers that he may be finding the form that so excited us all at the start of the season. Seems to be getting his touch back.

Jolly - Fantastic game at his old hunting ground. His tapwork was good, but it was his around the ground game where he really excelled. Made himself dangerous by going forward and providing a target, even if he doesn't mark it he tends to offer plenty of opportunities for our crumbing forwards.

Cloke - Was good early on but faded a little. He still contributed and was back on the goalscoring list which is always good.

Sidebottom - Loved Steele's game, his goals were opportunistic brilliance, a nothing chance turned into a goal, such a great reader of the play and so assured at such a young age. He's also very adept in his tackling pressure.

Brown - Great work from big Leroy, bashed and crashed, always gave a contest, slotted some nice goals and was handy floating back as well. Performed his role to perfection, couldn't ask for anything more.

Harry O - Great rebounding game, got himself into good marking positions all night and kicked a sublime goal to get us moving early on.

Leon Davis - Tried hard but is lacking touch at the moment. Can't doubt his endeavour but needs to start looking dangerous with ball in hand.

Toovey - Good job from Tooves, he is dependable which is all you can ask of a player of his sort.

Reid - Excellent, excellent game on White who had little effect on the game. This guy is starting to grow in confidence, is learning to keep his feet and is beginning to read the play exceptionally well. Also has a lovely raking left foot kick on him which got us out of trouble more than once.

Presti - Absolutely destroyed Goodes. The commentators were making excuses on behalf of Adam but in reality Presti just got the better of him and utilised his great shitdownskills to completely negate the dual Brownlow meddalist.

Lockyer - He looks a bit slow at times and he seems to have lost a bit of penetration in his kicking, but I thought his pressure was outstanding and the key aspect to his game last night. I like the ball in his hands delivering the ball inside fifty or taking a shot. Still has a place in my view.

Dawes - Looked to be our most dangerous forward for most of the night, used his strength to his advantage and his kicking for goal was reliable on a night when most of the team fell apart in that department.

Dick - A great shame he got injured because he was looking dangerous all night. Let's hope he recovers because he is an exciting prospect.

Goldsack - Solid game from him but might have to make way for Maxwell soon. Still rate this bloke, though.
