In this thread you can ask for peoples opinion on who is the best value out of 2 or 3 different players (looking at Fanfooty prices). You must answer the one ahead of you then right your own question. I'll start it off.

Michael Hurley, Andy Otten or Shannon Hurn?

None all are full priced.

Dalzeill or Swift

Swift - His spot in the side is a lot more concrete as well as him having good upside this year, he's a lock for my team.

Tippet or Kruezer?

Difficult one but Kreuzer for me. Tippett might consolidate for a year before taking the next step. The worry for me with Kreuzer is that he might be playing a lot of CHF next year and that could cause scoring issues given I do not see him as a forward. If he was locked into playing int he ruck next year I would be all over him.

Sticking with the ruck theme

Seaby or Mumford

I like Mumford from those 2. Sydney play a high stoppage game and he tackles like a mule, will suit his game to the ground. Swans paid big $ for him so they're expecting big things. The real concern here is that it finishes up as a 50/50 job share with both players upside being negated.

Similarly priced, Rioli and LeCras

Would go LeCras. Both should get more midfield time, but LeCras showed better signs late in the '09 season. I see WCE as big improvers in 2010; well Hawks should improve as well you'd think.

Ebert or Ward?

Ward. Just a better quality player. They're gunna wanna get it too him more often.
Choose 2 of Ziebell, Burton, Mayne and Ballantyne for value and explain y.

I would go for Ziebell and Mayne out of those 4, Ziebell has already show what he can do and with a 2nd pre season behind him he can only get better. He is going to be a future star for the Kangaroos and they will try and develop him more in the mid and focus on giving him more of the ball. The same goes with Mayne, in the 08 season he pulled a few nice scores and showing dt potential. He had the whole year off in 09 so you will be able to get him cheap. I get the feeling Burton will be playing on the wing for the crows which could increase scores, pulled the best time in the 3km run out of everyone so he is in good shape but i would not pick him because of his age and Adelaide also have a lot of players pushing for spots in the forwardline e.g Walker and McKernan so it would only take a few bad games and we may play someone else. Ballanyne i am not sure about, i can see him improving more with a pre season which he missed out on last season, he seems to be able to kick a lot of goals in the wafl but i would go with Mayne over him.

Hille - Ottens is aging and probably going to miss a few through injury this year. However Hille's role is uncertain... will he split the ruck time with Ryder? Will he return to 08 form? Despite the questions over Hille I believe he has more to bring than Ottens.

Pendlebury or Hayes?

Pendlebury or Hayes?
Pendlebury - with the year Swan had last year and the addition of Ball Pendlebury is going to get less attention than he has done the last couple of years and could easily up his scoring another 10. Hayes is pretty much at his peak price wise and I can't see him upping his scoring. Hayes though might be a reasonable captain option.

Dangerfield or Gray

Dangerfield will get more midfield time and it could be his breakout year

Jesse Smith or Beau Waters

Jesse Smith or Beau Waters

Waters - Jesse Smith will average 0 from the bench most of the year.

Carrazzo or S.Fisher?

Waters he is at least a chance to play. Even if Smith is fit (big if) he will find it hard to break into the side.

Cotchin or Masten?

I would go with Masten, he is a certainty to play in 20+ games next season barring injury and could bump his scores up with a developing midfield. Alternatively he could find himself competitng with other eagles players like Ebert and Swift, I think he can raise his average by 5-15 ppg though. Cotchin hasnt had the greatest run with injuries and commitment I hear, but if he can stay on the ground he should be able to raise his avg in a similar manner to Masten.

Andy Otten.

Joel MacDonald (317,200) or Xavier Ellis (323,300) ??

Just on Ziebell, arnt people concerned with him breaking his leg well through the season last year, usually that takes a fair while to get over, unsure how serious the break was, but as a young kid it could affect him in more ways than one. Would be nice to here a kangaroos fan give a report on their training, is he training and is he looking alright on his broken leg. Fairly serious injury which has me concerned especially as an 18 year, still developing and it might hurt confidance a little, plus durability now has to be questioned.

Would be great if Virgil could give a report

I honestly haven't started following the pre-season yet, but this was posted RE: Ziebell a few day ago on the Polls board:

It was only a minor crack, he didn't break it Nathan Brown style.

looks fine to me, on Wednesday.

Spent the second half of last year in the gym, and added alot to his lifts, he is a monster for an 18 year old midfielder, will end up a similar size to Ruccuito and Voss in the next couple of years.

Apparently Otten has done his knee, so no to him.

As for your question, I'd go with Ellis. If he can stop getting himself injured during games then he can easily average 80-90.

I don't really have a question so I'll just make one up.

Selwood or Pendlebury?

I would go with Selwood (if it is Joel). He is a far more talented and doesn't break his leg each week like Pedlebury:rolleyes:. Not sure if he has much upside but should be a very safe pick in the mids.

Sylvia or B Delidio (if they both remain forwards)?

Dangerfield will get more midfield time and it could be his breakout year

Jesse Smith or Beau Waters
Out of Waters and Smith you could really only choose the rookie that will replace them when they go down. If you held a gun to my head and made me pick one I would go with Waters; he has proven he can contribute at a DT relevant level, Smith has only shown that he could. Assuming both were fit (humour me) Waters has a guaranteed spot in the WCE backfield, Smith has to earn one in a dominant side pushing for success, which is traditionally a TOG and selection nightmare.

Martin or Cunnington

Cunnington. Tougher and AFL ready
