Does anybody know what the deal is with the #19 jumper ?
Why is the #19 & #13 numbers not given out
#19 - Being saved for Tom Lynch ?
We all love a conspiracy
Only thing Willo had a thing for was himself!Interesting. Really making the kids earn the low numbers. We have 3 vacant numbers in 1-20, and then fill every number 21-48.
I would have thought if Broad hadn't created the wrong headlines post-premiership, he might have got an upgrade.
#13 doesn't have a great recent record at Richmond, and #19 has been downright terrible - the last decent player we probably had was Greg Strachan - interestingly, Peter Wilson played his first year as #5 for us, and then took over #19 when Strachan retired. He only lasted 2 more years with us - and then took #9 at the Eagles. Maybe had a thing for 9s.

You weren’t far off young fella.I do this every year and almost, always never get it right. Especially since Dimma brang in the “earn your stripes” campaign a few years back.
But for a bit of fun. What are your predicted jumper number allocations/changes for season 2018?
7. Dan Butler (Switched from 40)
11. Nathan Broad (Switched from 35)
19. Jack Graham (Switched from 34)
20. Ivan Soldo (Switched from 47)
28. Jason Castagna (Switched from 46)
34. Jack Higgins
35. Patrick Naish
38. Noah Balta
40. Callum Coleman-Jones
43. Ben Miller
45. Liam Baker
Just me, but if I played in an AFL premiership, I would keep that number, regardless of whether it was 1, 7, 34, 40, 46, or 62.
Each to their own I suppose.
Far too much emphasis on just a number.
Yep agree completely, 40 and 46 are their numbers.... They're actually really good, unique numbers for footy. I know dimma doesn't like the high numbers for senior players but always appreciated axl for not parting with his 41.
Maybe he didnt get the offer.Does anyone know if all players were offered an upgarde and only Graham wanted to stay with #34?
One season.Maybe he didnt get the offer.
How many years did Dusty play in 36 before he got 4?
Was it 2?

).Did you part with it and was there a pre game presentation.......man hugs and arse slaps?Apart from the great man Francis Bourke, Richo, Graeme Landy and Jimmy Jess, my favourite AFL player has been John Platten (as I am a huge Central Districts fan) and will always associate 44 with him and love that number (and play it in Keno and Tattslotto).
Also a unique number with plenty of stars having worn in it in Platts, Justin Madden, Nigel Lappin, Richard Osborne, Corey Enright and Daryl Freame (well not so much).
I played a lot of senior footy at different clubs in two states (as I moved with work a fair bit) and I was just happy to play in the jumper they gave me. I wore numbers 1, 5, 15, 27, but also wore 34, 46 and 47. I never understood the fascination with some blokes and numbers. At one club, I was asked to give up 15 so they could give it to a prospective recruit (and an ordinary footballer to boot) as he pretty much demanded the jumper. Pffft!
