Don't drop this game!!!!

I have a bad feeling because this is the type of game we lose.

Been playing really good footy against good sides, a chance to really cement a top four spot, against a bottom side (for much of the year anyway) also on paper we are a much better side.

Its happened the previous few years, freo last year, essendon about round 15-16 last year, richmond 2007 i think, brisbane when they smashed us 2007, essendon late 2006

What do you guys think, is anyone worried at all, or am i just paranoid?

you may be a bit paranoid, but i understand where your coming from
however i think were much stronger than last year. We've come a long way this season and i think our form is as good as it possibly could be

Our defence is rock solid, our midfield full of talent, our forward line improving by the week and Cameron Wood will be the best ruckman to take the field.

We'll win and win by plenty.

Hope you boys are spot on.

Like the mighty t said it might show us how far we have improved on previous years by disposing of richmond easily like what should happen on form.

We could really do with a % boost as well to stave off any issues come round 22. A healthy % might allow us to rest up those that are tired and carrying injuries before the 6 day turnaround to QF versus Cats.

I think we've moved on from being a side that drops the stupid games. We've got plenty of match winners across the board and our defense has become one of the best in the league. Even if we have an off game there is enough talent there to get us over the line. I think if we go into the game with plenty of confidence in our ability, but still respecting the opposition and doing the hard yards defensively, we really should win this one.

Richmond don't have a single player we should genuinely be worried about. I predict a smashing for 2 quarters followed by a lackluster 2nd half, with a final margin of around 6 goals.

I'll go the opposite to MDC, our first halves have been ordinary for most of the year, yet in the second half we have blown teams away.

How many times this year have you at half time thought "this isnt looking good" only for the pies to come out and smash the opposition in the second half.

My tip;

10 points at half time;

65 at full time.:D

Could not have put it better myself.

Should also have learned from the Dogs effort last week.

I think the Dogs v Eagles came at the perfect time for us.

We have the drive, maturity, experience and skill to ensure that an upset will never happen. If I was a betting man I'd chuck a pineapple on us at 39.5+. Come to think of it, I'll be back soon.

Seriously, I have a feeling we are about to peak as a side. We are similar in the way Brisbane was circa 2000. We may not get to the GF this year and if we do I doubt we can knock the Saints off, but put in the same situation in 2010/11 seasons look out!

Oh, it will be sweet.

I just remembered a thread that was started just after the St Kilda game. All the negative nancies on our board were writing us off. I recall posting that we should just be patient and the wins would come. Voila!

i agree with this.... we seem to always have a let-down in either the first term or the second term for some reason.....

No slip ups

COLLINGWOOD might be one of the form teams of the competition right now but coach Mick Malthouse is wary of slipping on a Tiger-shaped banana peel this weekend.

Hopefully no one has egg on their face! Time will tell though. I'm just so pumped to watch the footy and crack a few frothy's every weekend lately it's great.
Also glad we finally have a Saturday arvo game too, feels like we are always playing Friday or Saturday nights.

This is the sort of game that I've been nervous about in recent seasons, for good reason as our history has shown. After the last three months however, I'm a little more confident. Prior to this season, we struggled to string wins together regardless of the opposition. That trend looked like it may have been set to continue until we strung our 7 game winning streak together.

Since the loss to Hawthorn, we've strung three more wins together against decent opposition in Carlton, Brisbane and Adelaide -- with all of those games carrying high stakes.

I'm expecting a victory tomorrow, although I would be lying if I said I wasn't still a little apprehensive. I think our next two weeks pose another test to see how far we've come from previous seasons. We've squandered our top four chances previously but we've put ourselves in a good position by beating fellow top four aspirants, now we have to win - hopefully comfortably - against the Tigers and Swans.

The pit that you have in your stomach isn't over-the-odds nervousness that we might not win the game - We all know that we're better than Richmond, and we all expect the win.

The bad feeling comes from just how awful the loss would be, given how crap Richmond are - The loss is only considered because you can never be entirely sure of the win.

Don't underrate players like Deledio, Tuck and Morton, they arn't that bad...

However, we will not lose this game, although we have lost a few of these types of games in the past, we are now more experienced and have matured to a point where we will clinically dispose of the Tigers:)

It will be close for a half, we should be 3-4 goals up at half time and then we will kick on and win by 40-50 imo.

I think it's fair enough to not worry about Tuck to much seeing as he has been playing two's for last few weeks. He has been named this week, could be playing for his future.
