I'm back although don't really have a solid rankings to put out yet just due to not having enough players stand out and scream 'draft me' consistently through the year.

We're 3 games into the Champs so there's still plenty to play out, but at this stage I see the draft as containing not much in terms of potential A graders, but quite a few that I feel will be between the 6th-15th player on any respective AFL list as there's a lack of 'elite' traits going around. Early observation is that it's a good draft for wingers and medium sized forwards but lacking in other areas, particularly when you remove the club aligned prospects from consideration

Same as always, ask questions and I'll answer to the best of my knowledge, and pop culture references are always appreciated

Who projects as the better prospect, Sam Marshall or Dan Annable.
Annable comfortably, I do feel they share quite a few similar traits but Annable's disposal and composure with ball in hand is a class above Marshalls

Sweid vs El Achkar?
I'm not convinced by either to be honest but I'd have El Ackhar ahead purely because he's got a bit more for a small forward role at the next level even if his conversion has been pretty horrid this year

What sort of range do you have for them?

I'd say most would have both as 20+ picks at the moment with Al Ackhar closer to 20. Sweid's kicking isn't good enough for AFL level and his contested game doesn't make up for it as a midfielder, if he can prove himself as an elite pressure forward at some point it'd go a long way to getting him picked higher

How are you feeling about Harry Dean? I've seen some people rank him as the best KPD in this class.
In this draft that's not difficult to be fair, but yeah I'd have him in that frame. Good interceptor with some speed and a nice left foot kick. He's prone to fumble at times (see the game v WA) but is mostly reliable, right now he's the only KPD I'd consider draftable and that could see a bid come in the second half of the first round.

Who are the small forwards to watch this year?
Unless you're a club with one in your NGA it's slim pickings, I really like Lachy Dovaston and I've been happy to see him finally getting the recognition he deserves, and I've liked Tom Matthews from Gippsland but he'll need to add a bit more production to his game to be in the draft frame I imagine, has all the athletic traits required though. I haven't seen as much of Taylor Byrne and Jack Miller as I'd like to so can't really comment on draft range, but both have AFL traits in the role

Talor Byrne's potential as a small pressure offence/ defensive forward?
Haven't seen enough of the Rebs this year to answer confidently, but the athletic traits certainly standout and he's not shy of the contest, so tentatively I'd say good but will have a clearer picture post champs

Thanks mate. Curious to know which of the NGA smalls you'd consider in the mix right now, and how they'd be tracking compared to guys like Matthews/Byrne? I understand the Dogs have Harley Hicks, but he's not so highly rated so far?

I love Walley and imagine Al Ackhar and Saxena would have fans.

TBH next year looks better for small forwards

Would you trade two top-5 picks in this draft for Harley Reid and can you explain to the likes of Morro why the answer is "Of course, numbnuts."
Bro, no love heart at the end :(

How much are Schubert and Marsh flying up the draft boards after their start to the Championships?
Marsh has solidified himself as a genuine top 15 prospect for sure and Schubert would be in the conversation as the top KPP in the pool, harder to judge Schubert given the poor quality of key defenders this year but his contested marking and mobility are undeniably impressive, I'm personally always tentative with forwards that don't have strong conversion though.
Hey mate. Where do you see Charlie Banfields draft range?
Keeping in mind I'm not watching PSA stuff I'd say he's more 30+, particularly given he's club linked and plays a role that's well represented in the draft
