Is there a chance to trade up to 4 if he's still on the table? If he were to fall we’d want him but there’s very little chance of that

Not sure what gave that impression, but yeah there's a chance I guessHe sounds more like a Peter Wright tall forward/relief ruck.....how is his competitiveness / ticker ?
His 2km time trial was elite for a tall....so maybe could midfield like jackson or wing like Cox.
Any chance he falls to pick 5/6 and Essendon take him to pair with Caddy?
Probably around the 3rd roundWhere/who would you compare blokes like Addinsall and Oudshoorn-Bennier draft range wise in last years draft? I feel like they’re both pretty solid and would love for the Eagles to find a way to get them should we take Duursma and CDT at the 1/2.

Koby Evans i like going heavily under the radar imoWho's a high upside prospect that might still be available in the 40s due to rawness or injuries?
Oi! Back off!Koby Evans i like going heavily under the radar imo
I think Sharp is being a little undersold.Bangers, very obviously the biggest knock on Sharp are to do with his translation to / future in the modern midfield game; athleticism, outside game + spread, kicking, etc.
Is there some truth to the idea that maybe that is all a little bit overblown?
The eagles thread right now is absolutely blowing up with Sharp discussion, and I can't help but feel that a lot of the knocks on him are rather arbitrary and based around the future of the game, and the list builds of successful teams, not him as a player. The idea you can get his type of player late in drafts, or that the inside pig isn't valuable anymore. Its a different story with a pick 2 compared to late teens, but Murph last year for example was the obvious 'footballer' pick rather than elite athlete and has only served to remind people of the value of a good footballer first.
Murphy Reid actually has solid speed, but his kicking and finesse is completely beyond SharpBangers, very obviously the biggest knock on Sharp are to do with his translation to / future in the modern midfield game; athleticism, outside game + spread, kicking, etc.

WC are trying to co-erce Carlton into trading up by handing over their first 2 picks. That will put Sharp on the menu.Murphy Reid actually has solid speed, but his kicking and finesse is completely beyond Sharp
I dont think eagle fans have to worry too much about Sharp, you aint taking him at 1,2 and doubt hes there at 13, would be a very small chance
Clearly. I only used the comparison in terms of them being labelled as non-plus athletes when that’s actually pretty disingenuous, as well as the fact they’re both clearly natural footballers from an IQ, reading the game, in the contest lens.Murphy Reid actually has solid speed, but his kicking and finesse is completely beyond Sharp
My point being that we should be considering him with 2, or doing all we can to make sure our third pick is in his range.I dont think eagle fans have to worry too much about Sharp, you aint taking him at 1,2 and doubt hes there at 13, would be a very small chance
The Reid comparison doesn't stack up because his disposal quality was/ is first class so can transfer across multiple roles, whereas Sharp's weapons all revolve around being around the footy as an inside mid.Bangers, very obviously the biggest knock on Sharp are to do with his translation to / future in the modern midfield game; athleticism, outside game + spread, kicking, etc.

They wont be able too afford the bids if they do thatWC are trying to co-erce Carlton into trading up by handing over their first 2 picks. That will put Sharp on the menu.
9 for 13 and 34 is pretty equal points wise? They wont be able too afford the bids if they do that
He said handing over their first 2 picks (9 and 11)9 for 13 and 34 is pretty equal points wise?
Unless Carlton are in love with CDT @ 2 there’s no reason we’d be shooting for both. Would just be looking to upgrade 13 into Sharp’s rangeHe said handing over their first 2 picks (9 and 11)
They may aswell keep 9 if its for similar points
Sharp is like Rowbottom, Ned Long or what Clay Hall will be. No club is spending pick 2 on that kind of playerClearly. Obviously big on him, so bias, but I’d be pretty confident Sharp is better than Hall day 1, and at least 70% as good as the other twoSharp is like Rowbottom, Ned Long or what Clay Hall will be. No club is spending pick 2 on that kind of player
So does that mean you don't think he should be a 1st round draft pick. The Reid comparison doesn't stack up because his disposal quality was/ is first class so can transfer across multiple roles, whereas Sharp's weapons all revolve around being around the footy as an inside mid.
I don't agree that the knocks on him are based on where the game is going, i think they're based on where the game is, the best midfielders nowadays are guys that use the ball well, accumulate and hit the scoreboard in open play, so even without the athletic concerns I'd argue Sharp is up against it to become a top tier player. There's obviously a place for his style of midfielder still in today's game, but its certainly less in demand and can be pretty easily filled through other means for cheaper than a first round draft pick (i.e. Ned Long)
Even looking at the delistings this year, and it's obviously not like for like, but most of the guys under 23 that weren't offered contracts were guys that weren't efficient ball users and/or lack athleticism, you need to be one of the best 25ish guys in the country at that role to have a long career at the top level now.
So no, I don't think its overblown to question whether he translates given where the games at currently

No team that has to match a bid, trades for equal points, that's just plain stupidity. There's no material gain for Carlton.9 for 13 and 34 is pretty equal points wise?
