Venus Fly Traps have to be watered with Distilled Water (or at least a water with a low Total Dissolved Solids) because in their native region in the USA, they have evolved to live in soil with poor nutritional content. Therefore if you water them with regular water, it can lead to the plant's roots "burning" because it can not cope with all the minerals.

The difference with Brooks and Keaton there were already known people with their birth names. Caine changed his name to sound more actory and because his favourite movie was The Caine Mutiny.

I presume that Katy Perry (real name Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson) adopted her stage name for the same reasons, only for the fashion designer Katie Perry to emerge.

Richard Clapton's stage name is derived from Keith Richards and Eric Clapton.

It seems strange that the Screen Actors Guild won't allow two people to be registered under the same name, even if it's their real name. That's why Michael Fox added a J, because there was already a veteran actor using the name Michael Fox. Interestingly, his middle name is Andrew; he didn't like A. because he thought it sounded too much like the Canadian 'eh' and he didn't like Andrew or Andy. So he chose J as a tribute to actor Michael J Pollard.

Australia has five different time zones in the summer and three in the winter

The US have 6 (Eastern, Central, Mountain, Pacific, Alaskan, and Hawaiian time). All states follow DST, except Hawaii (fair point), and Arizona. But what ****s with me is there is only 3 different tv time zones.

Spain’s time zone is in accordance to France, even though they are on the same parallel as the UK. So you can travel West from London to Madrid and still have to move your clocks forward.

India are in one time zone. But their reference is New Delhi (which is central), compared to Beijing in China being in the East.

Under the Communists, all train timetables in Russia used Moscow time. Imagine trying to do that conversion when waiting on a cold platform in Siberia.

Today, Russia has 11 time zones. !0 in mainland russia, and one in Kaliningrad (an enclave in Europe). At least they don't throw Daylight saving in there as well.

Samoa moved across the date line at the end of 2011, because the have better relations and trade business with New Zealand and Australia, rather than the US.
