I think it's time we all laid off of Motlop's after-the-siren shot at goal. Do we want the guy to have any sort of confidence to continue to play at the level he did in that first quarter against Freo earlier this year?

And besides, in the long term, that miss was a blessing in disguise. It put us out of the finals race (a race we probably wouldn't have been part of for long anyway) and it led to Choco's decision to get some game time into our kids for the remainder of the year. It can be argued that our 4-1 start this year is a result of events put in motion by Motlop.

Does anyone remember Dew's short pass from a kick-in against Brisbane?That kick was picked off by a Brisbane player, was slotted through for a goal that led to a drawn game. Do we all wish Stuey was still playing and hitting targets from 50+ metres away?

Motlop is not far off from becoming an absolute star for us. It will happen. Make no mistake about that.
