So Ms Dangerfield and Ms Brown are no longer satisfied with being called WAGS. The girls believe the term is demeaning and they would like to be referred to as 'significant others'. These two have to be taking the piss surely?

and here we have Patrick Dangerfield accompanied by his significant other.
Just trying to feel like they are important. IMO they are irrelevant, it must be hard for the, that they have been unable to have their long lunches and go to the spa. The influencer status will have dropped significantly as A significant number of people’s disposable incomes have dropped due to Covid.

yeah feels a bit like they want to make a new gender-neutral term and be fluffy and PC. just have WAGS and HABS if that's the case. also shut the **** up mrs. dangerfield and mrs. brown

Many years ago when I was gainfully employed, our workplace took time off from revolutionising the way the world worked to address the vexatious issue of what to call the closest person to each employee. It was clear that "husband" or "wife" were far too restrictive and the subject of serious unconscious bias; "spouse" excluded those who weren't, likewise "partner".

The HR boffins decided we would all have "significant others" - the first time I'd heard the term, but presumably it had already been the subject of discussion at global conventions of personnel managers.

Then of course the whole issue of social events that discriminated against people who didn't nominate one.

It was also about that time we stopped sending Christmas cards, just Happy Holidays greetings.

What's wrong with people??

Does that mean they will now be called so and sos?

Isnt signficant other offensive to insignificant people, or people who dont consider themselves to be "other"s, or polygamous relationships?

What about "Unknown humanoid entity that is in some undefined way linked, semi linked, or not linked to an afl player"
How about "Privileged partner of highly paid sports person making insignificant podcasts"

The easiest solution would be to not talk about them at all.

Ctrl-Alt-Del. Yeah that'll fix it. Hopefully they don't do this before the end of the season so they can be laughed at in perpetuity.

And while I'm here why do these people on your local radio who are universally reviled and ridiculed still have jobs?
