I heard a good story today on SEN.

Apparently, Anne Hatchard finished 3 votes behind the winner in the SANFLW (SAWFL?) equivalent of the Brownlow BUT in a game where Hatchard had 42 disposals, the 3 votes went to a teammate who had THREE whole touches all game, wears a similar number to Hatchard and has a "similar appearance".

Supposedly, the SAWFL are "investigating"...
Afl umpires doing that game?

Are those having a go at Wingard actually watch the game?
He was stuck in the forward line the entire second half, and Hawthorn got like 10 i50s that whole time. Clarko is killing my fantasy team bc of his refusal to play Wingard in the middle (where incidentally, he was actually OK in the first half). I don't understand the justification for not playing him in the midlle, esp with Essendon winning every clearance in the last quarter

Take your Chad blinkers off. He barely got a touch in the first half.

Even if Chad weren't looking absolutely horrible, we win that trade by a country mile.

Burton and Duursma have been and will be pivotal contributors to our premiership push this year and for the next 5 years, while if Chad can manage to stop playing horribly he might help Hawthorn to sell a few more guernseys as they skulk around the bottom of the ladder for the next half decade, and that's assuming he can keep his place in the team.

Chad as a full time elite midfielder has got to be treated as a myth to this point, that's two coaches now who have tried it and don't see it.

He's good in bursts but doesn't have the discipline, motivation or tank to be a full time midfielder, you can't just assume he will have the work ethic of a Travis Boak.

Hes not fit to shine travs boots when it comes to dedication and commitment to his craft.

When I'm feeling a little hum drum I go to an ex port players welcome page and then their most current page. Chad was going to deliver another 3 flags for Hawthorn, now they're fretting over having the lazy sod for 2 more years.

Polly was a steal for Norf, that classy outside mid....not so much anymore.
Polec so far has been ****ing hilarious.

Sucked in Norf and **** you for poaching a good role player by grossly overpaying.

Polec deal in a nutshell

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winner's_curse
The winner's curse is a phenomenon that may occur in common value auctions, where all bidders have the same (ex post) value for an item but receive different private (ex ante) signals about this value and wherein the winner is the bidder with the most optimistic evaluation of the asset and therefore will tend to overestimate and overpay.

Erin is in the video presentation.
That would irk the anti-Adelaide-Oval-Grand-Final-Crows-brigade.
Even Roo had to mumble it would be good for SA with extremely clenched teeth when asked directly on national tv.
Still, I doubt we will be successful.

Just wondering if there's a way on this site to block posts that feature a certain ex-port player in the same way you can put specific posters on ignore
You could just avoid the General AFL thred for a week or so either side of any time Chad is paying

I honestly don't see what other explanation there at this point is for the utter refusal to play Wingard as anything other than a stay-at-home forward. They keep him in that role and we'll 'win' the trade by a country mile.
We already have won that trade.

In: Burton, Mayes picks 5, 15 guess who they turned out to be.

Out: Wingard pick 6
