Grim but thoroughly entertaining.

You would never go back five years unless you were a supermasochist, but at least by the end of 2012 we'd stopped getting our short term hopes up. It was painful, and I have to seriously doubt whether I'd be as committed to the process if we ended up in that position again, but if nothing else (and there wasn't much else) you knew where you stood. Now hope brings a crushing level of tension, followed by nothing. And now six months without a game, and probably a full year until we can even potentially be playing finals again. By which time I'll most likely have dropped dead from a heart attack or been hit by a bus. What a downer. I'm well aware of how it would have gone against Port in the first week, but that wasn't the point. I was prepared to go there, lose comfortably and know that we'd snuck one last finals appearance in before the arrival of the wildcard system/global thermonuclear war. Maybe we won't make it for another 10 years? Do I need to bring up 1976 again?
My dignity was stripped long ago. If you're an opposition fan accidentally stumbling upon this let me state clearly for the record, there is absolutely no hokey, breakfast radio quality gag you can lay on us that stings even nearly as much as following this club up and down the S-Bend.

Bonus points for calling Rory Laird a gimp somewhere in the piece too.

Damn I forgot about that, was it watchable or cringe city?

Available on SBS Demand right now. Goes to air next Sunday I think?

Yeah, I thought it was very watchable. And it's pretty well made. Provides some more insight and context to his story. Sheds some new light on stuff, like his infamous speech at the Collingwood B&F. I love that FU even more now, lol.

Made the mistake of briefly venturing into the thread about it. Oh, boy, between that, MMA fans herpa derp and the usual family dramas, I've had my fill of stupid for one day...

Taken from the Melbourne Season Autopsy Thread......

"Also **** that finals ticket email the club sent out"

Geelong were never a chance of playing their QF at KP except against GWS.

The carry-on from BT about it during today's game at the MCG was PFE.

GWS played at Skoda despite the fact they could of got 60k at Homebush with more dogs fans coming over for that prelim. It's a fair point.

Why schedule Geelong Vs Richmond at skilled during the season without an issue but not for a final where Geelong have earnt it? Money, that's all.

There isn't the same contractual requirements with the Sydney stadia as there is for the MCG in finals.

They will never turn down an MCG QF/PF with an expected turnout of 80,000+ for Kardinia Park, no matter how whizzbang the joint is after the taxpayer pumped $100,000,000+ into it.

You talking about his knee in the face of the WC player? Nothing in it unfortunately because he didn't connect well enough from what I saw.

Careless, medium impact to the head = 2 down to 1 with early plea. He also has an applicable bad record after being suspended last year so that takes it back to 2 weeks.
There was also a potential for serious injury adding an extra week... looks like Rory may miss week 1 2018 as well - OUCH! LOL!

Yes please

Who was the last premier to lose their last two games of the home and away season? I think Adelaide are trying to defy history.
Sydney in 2012 lost to Hawthorn by 7 and Geelong by 34.
