My guess is Ian Dettman - but I have vague recollections that he may have had a mo?

Nah it's definitely not Ian Dettman. He did have a mo and red hair (not that you can really tell from a b&W photo) but I'm confident it isn't him.

You’re right Papa, definitely not Detto.

He and I held a Para Districts CA, batting partnership record for many years. Not sure if it still exists or not.

Then we both opened the bowling.

Will always have a bitter taste in my mouth after he was worst on ground against spooners North Adelaide then was barely average in the next game and somehow he got called up after that and then bottled the game against West Coast.
That selection smacked of desperation.

Can anybody help me with this. Who is this Woodville player chasing Tony Antrobus?
I initially thought it was Steve Jacquier but I'm now not so sure.

I think you're right with Steve Jacquier. The only other likely contender would be Brett Mackereth.

Here's some footage of the Port v Woodville first semi final from 1986 which was the year that photo was taken (sesquicentenary logo on jumper).

Seems they are pushing more transparency on umpire decisions. Good.
At least Richmond still had the win. If by some shit chance it’s close, watch for us to get a wrong call late. If not versus Freo, if we could make a bet on it occurring in the last 5 minutes and costing us a game sometime this year, it’d be easy money.

I'm in a tipping competition with 20 odd blokes of my vintage, most of whom don't live in Adelaide any more, called the Tony Antrobus Cup. All of us in the comp have a nickname of a SANFL player from the 80's. On the host page of the the tipping comp that picture appears, and quite frankly I just wanted to dazzle the rest of the comp with my knowledge of obscure 80's Warrior players...... that is what has gone wrong with my life.

You are Andrew Taylor?

Remember Henry McGee, the guy who opened the Benny Hill Show with "Yes, it's the Benny Hill Show!". He was once a victim of punctuation when he was playing a dramatic actor in the British soft pr0n "Come Play With Me" and his leading lady was meant to say "What is this thing called love?" but said "What is this thing called, love?"
Missed opportunity for "Come, Play With Me".

Going through old Budgets as a bairn, Woodville always seemed to have the most gamutous collection of cosmopolitan names.

Negri, Jakovich, Sewer, Jacquier, Klug, Panizza (Pan Pizza), Schwarz, Champion

Crows win, "Premiership favourites get off to good start against team expected to go deep in September"

Essendon win, "Essendon stake early claim as one of the best clubs this season"

Yeah, this is going to be shit viewing either way.
Either team losing is good for Port.
Essendon will be a challenger, either could knock the others season.

I’m using the AFL live app in the plane. I’m now devastated I spent $99 on the AFL live pass to be told it doesn’t work OS!

Go the draw!

Did I say in the Virginnlounge yesterday it was full of Crowbots, so I pulled out my Port scarf

Why? Should be a good contest.
