Whatever happened to those 4,000 crowd figures that the Crows promised for their games in the SANFL ?

It was not just that the Crows promised big crowds it was also a reason the SANFL making the conditions so tough for both the AFL Reserve teams. They feared the Crows would be successful and drag supporters from the SANFL clubs. That has not happened and is probably indicative of the Crow psyche. They are AFL oriented and not much else. Most Crow supporters could not tell you who the Captain or the Coach of their Reserves side was.

The best part about it is how their hatred of him makes them go into bat for Tex even if somewhere inside that know what he's saying is right. They just can't be seen to be agreeing with him.

I actually feel a bit sorry for Walker in that his profile and related scrutiny is of a much better player.

After all, we're not talking about a multiple All-Australian power forward of the N. Riewoldt, Pavlich, Tredrea-mould, or a constantly prolific Coleman Medal-type spearhead in the J. Riewoldt, Kennedy, Fevola-mould.

We're talking about a guy who has an elite attribute (booming leg), but limited physical capabilities, who as part of their complimentary forward setup, can provide 2-3 in a given week as a finisher.

But because of a mixture of his nickname, profile, captaincy and resultant silly paypacket, he's held up as an elite player who should be leading from the front and starring on a regular basis when he's nothing of the sort.

He's essentially Daniel Bradshaw if Daniel Bradshaw was into mullets, silly moustaches, nom de guerres and Leigh Matthews was daft enough to hand him the captaincy.

Good player. Fleetingly elite player. But that's it.
