Controversial opinion time, Charlie Cameron for Pick 12 was a decent trade for Brisbane. Sure they could have got him cheaper, but he's a proven class performer who trained in a great system, performs on the biggest stage and wants to go to your club.

For a team that's had huge issues with player retention and attracting quality players it was a good call pulling the trigger on that one and risk overpaying, particularly since he was contracted.

Whatever your thoughts on Cameron for #12, Lachie Weller for #2 surely takes the heat right off of it. I can’t believe the Suns haven’t been wound up yet.

Lachie's a nice prospect but a #2 pick is worth 2-3 Pick 12s, and at 22 he's still a fair way away from being one of the better players in the comp. Hardly ready made which should be a concern at a development black hole like the Gold Coast. I think most would have been thinking a late first rounder was fair.

CD would have attained immortal status on this board with a swindle like that.

As it stands Aaron Young, arguably one of their most consistent performers this year averaging 17 possessions and a goal, fetched a bag of chips and a 6 week subscription to the footy record. Does irk a bit.

Apparently they are having trouble identifying him.
That's a ******* joke, surely.

From the video footage they could work out the exact seat the bloke was sitting in and check it against their membership records.

******* hell, you could send the crows a video of Lee Oswald being shot and they wouldn't be able to identify Jack Ruby.

Where did Adelaide get their head fitness honchos from again???

So Burton and Hass both come from the Lions a couple of years ago after they had astronomical numbers of injuries, now the crows sit firmly at the top of that list while the Lions have the lowest number by miles. Funny thing that.

If one of our supporters is dumb enough to reach over the fence and whack an opposition player then they should have their membership revoked too.
I wouldn’t classify it as a whack, but how anyone could think it’s ok to touch a player on the behind is a mystery. This would be front page for a week if it’d been an AFLW player touched. Just because it’s a bloke, doesn’t mean he wants his arse patted by some random. Doesn’t deserve a life ban, but should be made to give a public apology to player and Adelaide (not that I give a shit about Adelaide, more to get it in the media more it was a fan of their’s, after their ‘wouldn’t be done by our fans’ attitude during any Port incident).

Fogarty vs Cameron. Pick 12 who would you choose?

It's a first round pick. It's insane, he's a good player but look at the players still available in the draft available at 12+. It was a desperate call by Brisbane and the wrong call. Don't see how taking Charlie Cameron when you could have picked up Darcy Fogarty at pick 12 is a win for Brisbane. Yes I like Cameron but if you can't back yourself identify better talent at 12 you are really struggling.

You can say you could have picked up a dud at 12 but you have to back yourself to do better.

You're falling into the trap of extrapolating a couple nice signs shown by a first year player to conclude he'll be a future star. Fogerty's kicked one or two sexy goals but he's been dropped a couple times already and is far from a slam dunk.

And that's assuming the Lions were even picking him.

Go back and have a look at the last 10 years of Pick 12s and tell me how they performed for their club.

Even better, go back and look at the last 10 years of Brisbane first rounders and tell me how they did for Brisbane.

If I'm Brisbane list manager I'm looking at that record, and I'm weighing it up against a known quantity 22 yo wanting to come to my club who'd just kicked 5 goals in a PF and eclipsed his more heralded forward teammates Betts, Jenkins and Walker in the GF.

You can swing either way on this trade but it's hardly the insanity that you contend.

Cameron is a match winner and therefore I was rapt when he wanted out. Big loss to Crows as he is fast and they dont have many fast players.

Lynch down the Rd will be gone at years end. Can they keep anyone?
Nope but it doesn’t seemto hurt them. Look at how they keep playing finals year in year out whereas we struggle.

Yeah, I've seen people "assaulted", and this ain't assault. Harassment? Sure. Kick him out of the ground and be done with it.

Assault, according to the letter of the law, is any form (even threat) of physical force that was intentional and unwanted.

You’re probably talking about assault causing harm/serious harm, or aggravated assault.

Brisbane were right to chase him, but they blinked in their offer. Adelaide were going to trade him and would have eventually accepted a pick 18-22 for him. Cameron is doing well, but long term for a club a decent KPF trumps a really good small forward.

Yeah, the could have drafted a KPF with that pick like Lawrence Angwin or that guy that Book was controversially drafted before. ;)
I love to bag Adelaide as much as the next person, but their continued drafting of KPP’s, even with plenty on the list is definitely not one of the things we can bag them for.

I doubt Brisbane would have selected Fogarty anyway given they already have Hipwood, McInerney and McStay as young KPPs in their best 22. Cameron fills a need on their list and is looking like money well spent.

Looks like a bargain atm. Would also fill an Eddie sized hole next year as well.

Im concerned for the mental well being of anyone who believes the Easton Wood incident was “assault”

That's anyone who can read. It's a legal term with a legal definition, and that definition is broad.
