Josh never should have slid to 57 though, thst was a bit of a rort in retrospect.
Compare that to the massive media campaigns that saw mead go at 25 and jones at 16 for us.
No problem with daicos getting votes for a 24d 2 goal 9 clr game out of the midfield
The problem is we know he’s gonna get bulk votes for his chip scab work at halfback where he shouldnt have. Houston’s work off halfback has been worth 10x daicos work off halfback, and he wouldn’t poll 30 votes even if we went unbeaten for the rest of the year.
He should not poll well until his move in the midfield and that should come well too late for a brownlow win…

I watched a fair bit pre-draft, and if wasn’t an nga he doesn’t go that high.

If your argument against mature bodied medium defenders don’t get drafted high Is highlighting a dude from 2 decades ago who had one of the best junior years pre draft for a sanfl junior I can recall and arguably the best kick I’ve ever seen in the sanfl … you’ve shot yourself in the foot.
The reason Collingwood look so good this year is because the teams around them from last year have turned to shyt.
Geelong and Sydney have fallen right away and Melbourne are not as good as last year.
Richmond and Freo who finished in the 8 last year have also fallen away.
Brisbane have slightly improved but still struggle away from the Gabba.
Collingwood are basically the same as last year but the competition has nose dived apart from the two Adelaide teams.
The old terminology of your only as good as your opposition is never more prevalent in 2023 Collingwood.

Daicos is going to break the Wines/Martin 36 vote record and probably by a fair bit.
No doubt he's a smart and skillful player but I don't think I've ever seen a player so hungry to accumulate possessions. Watch him closely, he constantly calls for the ball from teammates no matter how good or bad a position he's in to receive. Last night he literally took the ball out of Howe's hands lol.
